ah apoligise , I hadn't noticed that till you mentiond it.Your right actualy though i suspect thats just during this early build period or an artifact of the screenshot utility
I normaly shove all of my buttons on the top left (Used to using Mac) and KDE has fully customisable Button positions(has had for a while) , its just the colour scheme thats kind of pandering
a rather stupid rulling here , If your going to run a department which deals with national security it is in your intrests to use the best avaliable.Arguments on the usefullness of the DHS aside , if they want to perform to peak effiency they must use the best the world has to offer not the best the USA has to offer.
Ouch that looks a tad simmilar to the Fisher price XP theme , I am looking forward to KDE 4 for the features but a screenshot of KATE(a great text editor IMHO which fills a void between nano and emacs/VI) using a theme which shines of XPness is not the great. Although it is good to hear that KDE 4 is progressing
Its the only way to go,We have too many hyped up pop crap that people buy in droves because of the marketing. If we leveld the playing field and let people decide what they liked(which could easily be seen by repeate download rates) then i dare say the music world would be better for it. The artists would get a more representive pay cheque at the end of the day aswell( they get screwed over now anyway , no matter how hip they are).
*Obi-wan beats darth vaderv *Palpatine is a sith lord
*Amidala is pregnant
Honestly , my faith was restored in lucas after seeing the film , it was honestly a very enjoyable movie. The only bit that bugged me were the romantic scenes which are not really lucas's strong point
Yeah i see the notion was dropped from portable players
A blank media levy was introduced in Canada in 1997, by the addition of Part VII, "Private Copying", to the Canadian Copyright Act. The power to set rates and distribute the returns is vested in the Copyright Board of Canada. The Copyright Board has handed the task of distributing the funds to the Canadian Private Copying Collective, which is a private organisation. The Copyright Board has retained the task of setting the rate of the levy. In Canada: The levy applies to "blank audio recording media", such as CD-Rs. The levy is paid by importers and manufacturers of such media sold within Canada (and typically passed on to the retailer, and passed on to the purchaser). The levy is collected regardless of the purchaser's end use of the media. Only copyright holders of sound recordings of musical works are entitled to a share of the proceeds. (Note that these copyright holders may be separate persons from the holders of the copyright in the musical works themselves; ie. the composer or performer. Holders of copyrights in sound recordings are those who record or authorise the recording of a song; often this is a recording label.) The Canadian Private Copying Collective has devised a scheme by which the proceeds are to be allocated to registered sound recording copyright holders. AS of July 30th, 2004 none of the collected funds had yet been disbursed. In conjunction with the levy, the Copyright Act allows individuals to make copies of sound recordings for their own private, non-commercial use. They may not distribute the copy. On December 17th, 2004, a Canadian judge ruled that the blank media tax no longer applied to MP3 players such as Apple Computer's iPod. Before this, the rates were $2 for players with less than 1 GB of capacity, $15 for players up to 15 GB, and $25 for players 15 GB and over.
You know , i would really like music to be taxed ala the BBC,Download all you want etc and pay for it in with a license fee which is completly opt-out .
Am i right in thinking that Canadians pay a levy on blank CDs etc which is supposed to compensate Copyright holders for any infringment. If so then there is nothing to withhold.
I always explain it like this "If i want to see real people acting like buffoons i shall look out of my window " Animation alows for things just not possible in non animated shows.Plus Animation is a true art form.
Thats not fair , Season 8 had some of the best eppisodes of the simpsons ande Season 9 had a fair few greats aswell. It did start to faulter a bit after season 9 though , but there are a few gems in seasons 10-14 . It really started to sink at season 15 , The actors and animation have improved alot . The writting however (whilst good) just dosn't seem to have the spark it did , I do think they are running out of ground to tread with the current set-up. It may work if they start to age the charicters a bit , well for a few seasons. But the simpsons has had a great run .
Totaly agree , Family guy is more sillyness and absurd situation (nothing wrong with that ) and is a riot for it,The simpsons is far more situational and grounded,it can do more serious stuff well whilst still giving you a laugh(they occasionaly do silly stuff too though which is also great). Futurama i loved as well the charichters are all great , its has quantom indeterminacy jokes"No fair , you changed the result by mesuring it" and a plethera of geek/nerd reference. I started whatching American Dad aswell which looks to be promosing , I will pick up the first season DVD when its out (for now i have to use Bittorent , im in germany)
Im just running around my living room screaming Handel's messiah right now , This is great news. Futurama is the best comedy- sci-fi since red-dwarf and was cut so cruely in its prime. I Own all the DVD box sets and would gladly buy any new futurama eppisodes as it really was in a class of its own. No other comedy/animation out there really caters to the Nerd sence of humor as much. Brilliant news and its put me in a great mood
Its a total no-no for the average user , however it is a very cheap way to play around with a modern version of RISC OS. The industry is in real need of alot more diversity in many areas , but along with that we need alot more compatability , which is something we just wont get till we totaly get the diversity back . The OSS movment has been doing alot to further the causes of compatability(amongst other things) , but propritery vendors have no real drive to shift out of the Windows/x86 market as so many people are using that combination(though thats changing day on day). this machine though is definantly one of these things where if you cant think why you would need it then you probably dont.
Though you could shove NetBSD on the mini and sail , though nowhere near as fast as with Risc OS on nearly anything (it's a really great OS ) , I was just more trying to point out its an unfair comparison.
2 main reasons , ARM development and Risc OS development . Perhaps also it would make a rather nice router if you have money to burn , or an internet booth type thing if you wanted. Its really not a product your average user would want. I really don't see why the artical refers to as an alternative to A MacMini or SFF PC , it just leads to alot of confusion.
Looking at the specs sheet and the expected price It really is not any competition for the Mac mini, so its expected to retail for around 499GBP+vat(17.5% on top of that) in the UK (if UKP means UK pound ?, ) which is already alot more than the price of the 1.42ghz g4 based mac mini , which comes with double the ram , double the harddrive. It will probably make a great ARM development machine but i don't think its trying to compete with SFF PCs and MacMinis. -Comparing it to a macmini is really doing it a great dis-service
That was not ment to be taken seriously...;) incase you were wondering. I do belive he probably does subbmit about 80 storys a month though and if you have levels like that then you are bound to get some through , If as the origional post states he ears 640 or so a month from this then i doubt its much insentive to pay off the editors and is just enough to pay for rent and food barely much else. or its a nice bonus to the paycheque. Perhaps Roland is just the victum of one amazingly large complex troll;) has anyone ever suggested that before(probably).... Or perhaps your right and he is paying off the editors to keep his websites revenue a churnin , I don't know. Though it is fun reading all the conspiracy theorys whenever he subbmits an artical
Theory: He subbmits 14 times as many articals and goes by the law of averages ! perhaps? Its just an odd coincidence that Timothy always seems to be the editor to OK them , it hapens.. a simmilar freak occurance of this magnitutde also started life on earth

It will most likely be a Gallium Alloy , as gallium is mildly toxic and has expansive propertys
