    They are art and media , Some games atleast are comparable to works of literature other are stylistic master works.
    Yet i doubt the lady would have any problem with kid reading great works of literature, religious books or historical documents , Alot of which have explicit violance which is far in excess of that of games.
    These games do not turn people into violent sociopaths anymore than reading the bible/torah/tao te ching/quoran etc does ,Compare the number of violent crimes related to computer games with those related to people taking bits from the bible a bit too literaly .
    The numbers would fall heavily in favour of banning the book if we did .

    There may be a shortage of IT workers in the USA indeed soon.
    I may then move to the USA , As one thing a shortage of workers means is a nice hefty salary.
    So for those who remain in the field could very likely expect a rather nice pay rise, for those remaining jobs that don't get offshored that is (mainly tech , Services , administration etc things that can't yet be offshored easily )

    If you take good care of your cards they will work fine , i have had several cards run till expiration dates(they probably would of continued to work , but i cut them up) . Though i agree if you don't take good care of them they can faulter and fail, Though subjecting any digitaly storeddata strip to sandpaper is going to destroy it , So basicaly make sure you have a smoth slots in your wallet for the cards

    But you can bolt it on to older hardware within that time frame and start shipping it out if your lucky.
    Also if im not mistaken cross over handsets already exist so it would only be a case of getting a supply and starting to ship them out.

    (I can't remember if that is 100% but i am fairly sure i read an artical about cross over handsets a few months back .If anyone can confirm that..)

    Would to provide new handsets with basic Mobile/cell phone phone functionality to hitch hike on the current networks emergency dialing capabilities.
    It would be a short term soloution indeed , but then 120 days is a very short term .

    Too much information may lead to burnout if it is not properly handeld (Dream states are our bodys ways of coping with the excess of information) , What causes the depresions is the long hours and heavy workloads . When the body is not given good time to recouperate from our daily chores then we will suffer from the effects.

    The IT field as it is will most likely make us susceptable to this,IE: working that extra couple of hours to get a project finished. If we deny ourselves proper rest and relaxation we are bound to become overburdend and stress.

    A cartridge as in a protective case ala a flopy disc just a thin layer of plastic that is non removable so that the Disc within is not damaged even when reading .
    I dont know about you , but having a disc scratched and loosing data is very very annoying ;)

    By the time these are commen HDD drives will be very much larger , the same occured with the introduction of the CD.
    At the time CD drives were introduced , 1 cd could contain all my data .

    The very same argument was used when we started moving from floppys to CDs.
    I am fairly sure the comercial Blue-ray discs will in all likely-hood be alot more resiliant than the current discs .
    Who knows they may very well use a cartridge , which would be great.

    Sony on the UMD disks for the PSP (which are derived from Blue-ray tech)Have a cartridge like case for the disks , So perhaps when they go comercial they will have the sence to use a simmilar case for blue-ray .
    It may put the cost up a little , but i would be willing to pay extra for the peace of mind.

    I think they get it from canada , or the EU.
    Suprisingly they did actualy pay for it , not that they would really have to anyway as i doubt they will really care about being taken to the US courts due to the embargos and what not.
    The black market in cuba is rather strong ;), Not to mention that alot of US companys do trade with cuba via their european and Canadian branches .
    They only fail to do trade with some smaller countrys who recive US aid , IIRC there is a policy about concerning trade with embargod nations if you are to qualify for US assistance.

    What a load of rubbish, The CEO of a competing company says that Google will not be here in 5 years. This is about as acurit a prediction as the Ipod-Killers.
    google may share its market a little more in 5 years with some new search engines which take some of its market , but it will not kill google.Last time i heard Google was doing extremly well from its Advertising bussines and is certainly sustainable for the foreseeable future.

    It most likely had to do with improvments in communications and publishing which had improved by leaps and bounds during the 19th centuary , by that time the printed press was nearly within grasp of the commen scientist allowing for ideas and inventions to propigate through the then "New" channels.
    If anything patents helped hinder that for a fair while by keeping the costs up
