I must say that i had yet to actualy read the artical before today , This is not journalism its a cheap dirty smeer campaign .
As of today i am blacklisting all of O'Garas Advertisers in protest , that will allow me to stay informed and not fund this filth.
I suggest we all do the same .

Personaly i dont care what Pamela Richards gets up to in her free time
She does alot of good work and has Ethics , and for that i respect her.
O'Gara ethics are on par with the Given reasons for the recent Iraqi conflict.

If i read a linux news site i want News on linux , I dont want to have to read tabloid grade personal attacks on individuals .

O'Gara will continue to get press and fame over this and the only way we can send a message (as i see it) is to blacklist her sponsers and make that fact known to the sponsers.

I don't know if the rumours of Timothy pushing the blogs for financial gain are true or if it just so happens its a coincidence , It dosn't really matter to me.
If the story holds some intrest , then fair play if they can make a little on the side from this .

Im betting that Roland submits a hell of alot of storys that dont get through aswell .

Sites suporting each other is nothing new , They pass clients/customers between each other all the time .

All i would say though , is if this is an AD aswell as a story if it could be a bit more blatent with the fact its an AD .

Design is such a subjective issue ,You can't really expect to make a design that everyone will love , Custom cases are a way around this i guess ;). knowing alot of folks tastes it could end in some frightening results(some grand ones too).

I did have an idea for some "assorted shape" based slot designs ( a selection of add-ons with odd shapes and colours that you could use to customise your computer, ) never got around to padding out the idea though (a kind of building blocks type lego idea but with larger more colourfull designs, i called it spludgeio).

I did infact have a wood trimed atari 2600 which caught fire once , well it melted a bit of the plastic .

Of course if your talking a large manual which can run into the hundreds of pages (i have seen them at 800 or more) you could be talking about as much as 5.00+( 0.08*800.00)=69 USD (chuckle). I also assume that this would not be a one off so over the course of a year you could be talking several hundread Cold green.
Even for a slim 150 page manual your talking 17 USD . For those types of prices you cant get some nice reference books.

My soloution (which i use myself and which i stated in an earlyer post) was to get an older laptop with a nice screen to use as a glorified book reader.
I paid 200 for a P3-600mhz with 256MB ram(a really good price at the time, so perhaps it will cost you a little more. Though a 600mhz p3 is overkill for just a pdf reader, but i use it for other things aswell) with a nice 15" screen . It has served me well and works great as a glorified book reader.

The problem here , is some smart arse thought they could motivate the police to reduce the crimne-rate by giving them quotas . So instead of conducting there normal investigations they have to allocate a certain ammount of time to meeting those quotas . Violant crime and robbery take time to solve , Random drunks being a bit loud , speeders and dangerous drivers are like shooting fish in a barrel.

Its the same in the UK , its the same in Germany and im fairly sure its true in most other EU nations (probably also true in the USA , Canada , Australia , newzeland... etc etc)
