The issue to me is that even if they have probable cause, what is the scope of their investigation? Are they looking for something specific, or just looking in general?
That's what the lawyers are for. I'm a 2L, and when we have mock trial competitions, one of the main things we are told to do is explain concepts to the (fake) jury. The judge can try to explain during jury instructions, but it's the job of the attorney during his opening and closing arguments to break down obscure concepts in terms that Joe Sixpack can understand.
Alternatively, we can do away with the jury system altogether and just have bench trials, but there are probably a good portion of judges who are about as dumb (relatively) as the average juror.
I would disagree with regard to Peanuts. While Garfield reuses the same old jokes every week (not that I don't find Garfield entertaining), Peanuts was a strip that we could all relate to. Calvin & Hobbes is still edgy after all these years, but Peanuts is timeless. Granted, Charles Schulz didn't tackle contemporary issues in the later years that he did in Peanuts' heyday (New Math, school prayer, introducing an African-American character when nobody else had one, etc.), but Peanuts always made people smile. And it also made us think.
The final strip of Peanuts was one of the more touching things I've read in the comics section, moreso than the last strip of the first For Better or Worse run. When Peanuts ended, it was like the death of a older relative -- you knew it was coming, but you didn't want it to end so fast. The last Calvin & Hobbes strip did not end on that sort of cathartic note; rather, it ended on an uncertain note, as if Mr. Watterson was leaving it up to the reader's imagination what happens next.
He's become quite Republican since winning election, which makes sense if he wants to win the next one.
But Fox News told me that Obama is a dangerous liberal Marxist fascist radical!
This whole "socialist" meme is getting tiresome. Obama is a center-right politician, like 99% of the people in Washington today. The center moved so far to the right under Reagan and Dubya that even someone in the (actual) center is a socialist by comparison to someone like Limbaugh.
I would presume a journalist needs to eat and pay rent, so thus would need some sort of job. Just because the loudest personalities on Fox (or any network for that matter) are clearly unobjective does not mean all the people that work there have no ethics.
Really, will critics of MS ever recognize anything good that comes out of that company?
We'll get back to you when they release something good.
And if you don't buy Microsoft products, I have a few chairs I'd like to introduce you to.
If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me? I am no longer infected.
need to put to death.
Generally, tyrants do put people to death. That's why they're tyrants.

No, people go to business school to engage in illegal activities.
Battery ain't found in ME
Well, that would explain a lot.

As long as they leave 4chan alone, I don't have an issue.

How nice of your connection to hit the submit button for you.
If you can't take it all in at once, what's the big deal?
That's what she said.
If the U.N. simply declares that New Jersey now belongs to Scientologists
The guidos would declare war and there would be a battle of biblical proportions. As an expatriate from NJ, I would love to see that.
I think it may have been an unintentional joke -- the parent is arguing that the reforms proposed by the grandparent will never happen.
N_GGERS?
Haven't heard about WTC7.
Yeah, because they didn't have coverage of the WTC7 collapse on TV that day. Oh wait.

Regulation != socialism.
You know the rules, and so do I.
This isn't Wikipedia -- we don't need NPOV here necessarily.
Couldn't they just make OSX longer?
Not sure why you got modded flamebait, this idea makes a bit of sense (although I wouldn't have worded it in such a crypto-libertarian way).
It must be kdawson's side job.
Depends on if the court imposes sanctions. The lawsuit seems frivolous considering that the sheriff proceeded even though Craigslist was immune.
