well, doing a search for my own name brings up my own web site as the first entry...so should I write something libelous about myself on my website and then sue google?
When people use the term character assassination, it's usually in reference to someone with a legitimate reputation that's getting shredded. Hoagland's character doesn't need to be assassinated because it doesn't have a leg to stand on. Hoagland has what is essentially an imitation Angstrom medal to make up for a lack of a real degree in any field of science.... and attributes the life-on-Europa theory to himself when it obviously wasn't his idea.
You know what? Let's look for faces on Mars. Let's look for faces everywhere! I'm sure there's a face somewhere around the crab nebula. Then let's bombard NASA (even though they get hundreds of these sightings a day) and when they don't respond because they're too busy with real science, we'll claim a cover-up!
Hoagland reminds me of the Family Guy:
Peter: Oh my god. Brian, there's a message in my alphabits. It says "oooo."
If Mac users are going to throw hissy fits then let them. "Proper Mac" or not (and I think some Mac users have to get off their philosophical high horse), the fact that the Gimp developers are taking the time to release an OS X version ( and probably won't make a dime as a result, instead getting flames from the likes of you) tells me that they aren't as lazy or deceitful as you would lead people to believe. It's one thing to make a constructive suggestion, but it's totally another to be a trollish flamer.
um...so would you like the developers to say that it DOESN'T run on OS X? I think there are going to be some OS X users out there who are going to prove otherwise.
A lot of apps have dependencies. Just because some of them don't package all of them into a nice install doesn't mean you need to get your panties in a bind.
I haven't used the 5500, but it seems that many of the 3rd party Zaurus apps will run on the 5500. Thus, an educated guess is that the 5500 will suit your needs. However many zaurus reviewers have noted that the 5600 fixes a lot of the issues they had with the 5500.
If price isn't an issue, hold off until the Zaurus 6000 comes out. It'll have more memory and a higher resolution screen. It'll probably cost a pretty penny though.
If cost is an issue, Amazon's selling 5600s for less than 300 now. Interestingly, it's been rumored since January that some of the 5600s from Amazon have the PXA255 CPU which is faster than the PXA250 which originally came installed in the 5600. However, I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and it had the PXA250.
Another thing to note is that Sharp's developer site has been down for at least a few weeks now. It's not clear when it'll come back up.
They indeed did port IE to UNIX and include in there development kits. I think it's hightly possible to port office through Mainsoft (I know notepad was lol), but judging by the performance of apps ported to Unix via mainsoft compared to their native windows performance, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
IANAL, but I think in some cases, certain evidence that is exposed during discovery can be sealed under court order so that the public can not have access to it.
I'd give it to the europeans or the chinese (who ware trying to get their own program off the ground) if they want it....or even sell it to them. It might save NASA some money and help the scientific community.
i've got problems with both the holy grail and meaning of life dvds on my set top boxes and the PS2 but they work fine on my PC. With the holy grail, the subtitles keep popping up and with the meaning of life the video is distorted.
Star Trek Nemesis caused one DVD player to break and constantly freezes on another but plays fine on my PC.
Those who moderated the parent down were obviously not aware of the Defenestration of Prague.
From this site:On May 23, 1618, in Prague, a few royal officials were thrown out a window of Hradcany Castle by some noblemen, but survived the fall by landing in a cart full of manure.
It's the most amusing thing you'll learn about in an AP European History course.

Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.
Give me a break.
The computer should play "Save me, Jebus!" when you click on it
Unfortunately, the government could just take control of the whole thing and do whatever the devil it likes.
i'm willing to bet they got a volume discount.

"Theoretically, it could enable a boy to become a father before he reached puberty."
So who's really the father? The boy or the mouse? The mouse is the one producing the sperm, not the boy. Oy, my head is spinning.
Bill Nye?
You're talking about this, I believe.
I was thinking of something along the lines of this
There needs to be some sort of "Netcraft Confirms is Dying" article generator.

This isn't news. It's a piece of opinion from some guy at the NY Post. People read the Post to get riled up and nothing more.

apparently, rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
uh...you raise some good points, but where's this fear, uncertainty, despair that you speak of?
What does firebird have to do windows messenger pop-ups, timothy?
does the same apply with grub?
