    One new iTunes feature that slipped by me was the new 'Apple Lossless Encoder'. Unlike music formats like MP3, AAC and Ogg Vorbis, lossless encoding results in no loss of quality - the music file sounds exactly like the original. The downside to this is that files compressed using lossless compression are typically quite a bit larger than their lossy counterparts.     Its inevitable. I'm one of the millions of users who have downloaded FF and never use it. So downoads is no measure of popularity. Other statistics derived by tracking the browser of users visiting popular websites is a good measure. FF is more of a hype and ppl look at it as a small competitior to the giant MS. But the hype will fade and IE7 will be soon out and things would again go the MS way. I hope its not the case. But its inevitable

    My first brush with linux was 7 yrs back when I was attempting to install it on my pentium 2 PC. I had an AMD 188 MHz processor and 2.1 GB of hard disk space. I made 2 partitions out of it. 550 MB partition was dedicated to Linux. I successfully installed Linux after 2 days of hard work. But still I couldnt get the proper drivers for my Philips monitor. I had linux for about 4 months and then decided that it was a total waste of precious memory. That was my firt and last stint with Linux
