Most likely using less of almost anything is an environmental positive. Consider the footprint of harvest, transport, disposal. Plus it costs the user more to print than to read on screen, so it's bad business to print when you don't need to.
Sure, it's not like they are making paper out of old growth forest. But that doesn't mean it's a good thing to waste paper.
I loved Firefly, but man, there is no question that the worst part of that show is the theme song. I make sure to skip it if I'm introducing someone to Firefly, so they don't think the rest of the show is as painfully bad as that song.
So forgive me if I'm skeptical of a series based on a musical idea from Joss Whedon.
Wonder what would happen if you were to try to set the BSA, RIAA and MPAA onto the TSA. No one strikes fear into the hearts of the TSA like the Boy Scouts of America.
Actually, those first two episodes were on a promotional disk that they distributed. I don't know who all got one, but two friends of mine who worked at a cable/phone/isp both had one. They had a Property of Showtime banner that scrolled by now and then. I don't know if those were the ones that got leaked or not, but it wasn't like they were shy about giving them out.
Its intuitions, of course, are just calculations -- given enough time they could be carried out with stones. A computer attached to a properly tuned pitching machine is a beautiful thing.
- During the mini he says he's never plotted a successful jump before. Then in 33 -- five days later -- he's done 240? Without a hitch?
well, the point of that episode was that they had to jump every 33 minutes. so that counts to something like 1500 possible jumps in 5 days. other points sound good though.
The chip should be able to translate infrared into whatever wavelength it wants, the same as an infrared scope does. So it is certainly possible for the person to see something that their eye couldn't "normally" see.
Although, since we are talking about blind people here, that would be pretty much everything.

A full box of paper is 20lbs. I use them for military press sometimes at work, along with pushups, squats, and using the stairs.
Think about a convoy of bikes outfitted with this lane projector. 4 or 5 lanes all blended together...
And if I remember correctly the first effect of it was to block the gravity keeping the air above it from flying off into space.
There could be an infinite series of events, each being caused by the one before that.
It's turtles all the way down!

I guess I'd better buy the book now, before they all have Will Smith on the cover.
It deserved a burial at C!

hehe, well that'l teach me to do simple math at 3am!
:)
I think I was figuring 33 jumps ever half hour over a single day.
