  1. XP has "clear type" on Anti-Aliased Fonts For GNOME · · Score: 1

I know, Clear Type is a 1980's invention (just check http://grc.com/cleartype.htm )but appearantly, as X-Setup for Windows shows here (you can consider it like a linuxconf wannabe allthough, it is good) Windows XP has Clear Type technology built in.

So, if they wanted to "wait" us for this amount of time just for drawing gray pixels near fonts, they should come with Clear Type like (and I repeat,I am deeply believing, it is just a 80's sub-cga gfx invention) technology.

Know what? The software which I used was "grown". Well, I tought they should have enhanced it... Than at Installation Screen, this question has been asked (and, as usual, clicked by default"

"Install Gator and new .NET software with it?"

    I canceled installation directly.

For me, as a foreigner, it was an absolute shock. I mean, for a large company to add such known spyware to their "flagship" download. I feedbacked them too, via my own mail etc. calling them "morons".

Now I just start to understand what happens.

I sure remember some scripts using ipchains got broken on 2.4 kernel upgraders, so that made Linux evil?

Firewalls, especially on closed system architectures plays too much with system internals. So when a system get updated, they can cause crashes. Notice Zonealarm and Blackice are "startup" programs. So, a end user installing those will get crashed and it will cause lots of hours to understand what is going on.

No need to say much, TheRegister article explains all.

http://www.jabbercentral.org/clients/ is a good resource of course. Also can you check the clients resource use?

One of the interesting fact is only Winjabber which is -goodly- written Delphi program can support my language. Also the language I speak about isn't Chinese with 3000 chars, it is a latin based Turkish alphabet (iso-8859-9).

IMHO Jabber needs a compact client which uses 1/10 footprint of those ICQ,MSN and has 10 times more features.

Than you can make windows users care as so that time Industry cares.

Adobe just another huge closed source software company with an army of lawyers. I wanted to point this fact since it seems some of us thinks like above.

Than, "plop", a browser branded AOL/Netscape (don't hide from it, don't close your eyes) will ship and will have a option for disabling animated gifs which occupies %90 of Internet advertising...
So, lets go back to real world. While I am posting this, a "rack space managed hosting" advert flashes right at the top of the page... Well, I admit I looked to it right now, I saw it because it was animated. So, I don't think Slashdot is a animated gif hater, advanced coders like them could purge whole animated gifs in matter of seconds.
The second thing... Performance... It has REALLY long way to go. They admit it while "fanatics" even argue it is near fast as IE, talking about Windows kernel (yea, I was thinking that too, disappointed when heard Linux version is slower)...
So, performance is what kills mozilla... Plugins.. Was too hard to import windows filetype list to Mozilla? So at least we could select damn "always open that file with ...."...
well, everytime I download and run Mozilla, Netscape 6.x updates, I get more disappointed.
