    Anybody saying that a gas (or a plethora of gasses) cannot warm the planet (or the family bathroom) has not experienced their Forty-year-old Father using the facilities in the evening. I suggest leaving the family Canary firmly in it's cage in the Kitchen. Thank you.

    The whole thing is Market hype. IT seems to need this sort of thing to keep it going, or else we'd still be at our desks running Windows 3.11 on Pentium 60's... Overhype, overprice, make sure they have to upgrade or lose support or functionality. And oh yeah, throw in some bells and whistles for the sheeples as well...They should come out with an XP Overhaul Update for $100 or less...They'd still make money, update the technology, and find ways to give us "Features" that may soon limit our freedom on our own freeking PC's...Vista ? Ran the Betas and RC. I saw nothing relevant that would make me want to keep it. XP on my pc's, 2003Server on my file stashes and unix on my web server. I'm not buying another copy of the white album on BlueRay when it comes out either. Cheers

    Reboot into Safe mode and defrag from there. No doubt you have too many backround apps and services running. There's nothing wrong with Norton (specially Corporate AV) If you have mem leaks look at the Software running then the hardware. I've had XP on Crap systems and my latest AMD5000X2 monster with no issues (unless you count some bad ass third party drivers :-)) All Pro SP2 legit mind you. No XPborgs here. Had a buddy with a naughty OFF2003 with a bad mem leak come to me last week. Ripped out his P2P version and installed a fresh copy, leak went away... Cheers

    LOL, huh, ok....lol The point is, was, That all these resources don't take up that much (RE:Norton is Corporate, not the retail crap) And Once the First OS setup is complete they have an Image to fall back on if they suspect they are compromised. As long as you setup their pst file and their "My Documents" to point to another drive, they lose nada when they re-image and then they're Clean. I don't know many techs that setup up their users like that to the point that they only call me up to thank me and ask functionality questions, other than buy me beer ;-)

    You have to wonder..I mean, of course it's a disaster out there, we're not setting up newbies with enough education or software. I setup my users with XPSP2, Norton, Pest Patrol, Spybot, Norton ghost or Acronis and a router and a promise to "try" and stay away from googling porn. Out of ninety regulars on my phone, only three of them need re-image instruction once in a while. Malware ? what malware ?

    Another post that tells me we're getting all too soft... And it's gone to our heads now.. The Caps Lock key ? A threat to our sanity and productivity ? Are the typing courses empty ? that might explain why some peeps might hit it accidentaly but, I'll file this post as another "They should get a life" folder and then hold down shift accidentaly when hitting delete... Saying Vista is crap so he can then pounce when Vista is released and Hype it as Gold. There's much too much talk about uncertain quantities these days...even hoaxes are discussed into the ground.     Hummm, I guess I should look up Iraq, 911 and WMD's and UFO's when I visit next to get the "real" facts... I seriously doubt that you would use various "laymen" sources over what you obviously use; Time trusted state and corporate run institutions....But at least then you have a source you can go back to and hold accountable.     Just goes to show that America lacks a free mind and backbone. What's next ? Colbert burning the flag and then jailed for "incitment" ?! Why can't we start acting like the civilized adults that we say we are and laugh at the obvious humour, instead of doing something nasty and blaming some celebrity ?(in this case an actor portraying a right wing nutcase) OK in this case HE actually edited an entry on HIMSELF...the rest well, "we" did it... I'm no big fan of Wiki but isn't it base on the trust of the Maturity of its Visitors ?! Isn't this the real problem ? Is this the start of a new trend ? No, it's quite old isn't it....

    You're right they don't NEED this trick but if you delete the files you'll be in the same boat and will be able to re-Validate. The fact that a corporate key is more expensive is besides the point. We were asked how, not how on a budget. But most will likely "borrow" a legit Corporate key from work anyways ;-) Cheers

    I love all these Pseudo Tech offering advice, it always boggles my mind... 0- Buy a Copy of Windows (whatever version you have installed)or buy a key from M$ 1- Reboot in safe mode 2- Do a search for WPA.* (WPA.DBL, WPA.BAK)They're in C:\windows\system32 3- Delete these file 4- Reboot into normal mode, you will warned that you have blabla time to activate 5- Click to activate, select by phone, select change key (bottom of form) 6- Enter new legit key 7- You are returned to activation screen, click Activate online 8- Do a search and backup the wpa files for future needs 9- Done

    Sadly yes.... Even to the point of my wife keeping a journal of thoughts and dreams I have...then when I ask her WTF?!, she looks it up and sure enough...Something I dreamed or flashed on a year or two ago... Now I say Sadly because I'm an aitheist and a para non beleiver... Argh to the tenth power... I agree most Deja Vues are "Brain Burps", but it's the ones that you can prove you had previous knowledge of that make me wonder what the heck's going on beyond the usual brain waves... Peace
