open source is often made by paid developers, including major chunks of the Linux kernel. Open source just means you get the source code to modify or inspect, nothing to do with compensation or lack thereof.
nah, microstation used to have huge precision and transformation invariance issues compared to autocad. Had to work with both back in the 90's, microstation was sloppy
pfft, I can't even remember the speed dial assignments, I just scroll down my contacts list and hit call.
funny we still call it "dialing a number", phones haven't had a dial for more than two decades.
and for more improvement, we could print the value of the card on the outside of the card. and have a bunch of cards in varying amounts of money so if you lose one you don't lose all your money. we could make them green to distinguish them from other cards. maybe put some pictures of dead presidents on them.
A major distributor of GNU/Linux dying a quiet, pathetic death snuggled up to Microsoft in lieu of being an open source giant?
You ain't seen nothing yet.
You're confused, what Novell did was very tacky, putting the rest of the team in jeopardy to advance itself. Novell has left the team and joined the other side. Mark's involved in a large free software project called Unbuntu in a substantial way, and there's plenty of other free software leaders of major projects who are very unhappy with the Microsoft-Novell deal.
it's possible for either a silicon dioxide or obsidian knife to be one molecule thick too, so I don't think this nanotube knife is much improvement on some of the broken edges of other material that have been used for centuries.
It is a reality of software complexity that writing alternate code *WILL* break existing applications that use libraries and services, just because that won' be the code that the developers and testers are using. That will turn business and careful users away. Novell has alienated themselves from the mainstream of FOSS, and as time goes on things will get worse and worse for them trying to maintain a compatible environment.
There's an open petition to Novell's CEO by Bruce Perens protesting the Microsoft-Novell deal, signing requires registering with your name and email address.
such features are often supplied by yet another microprocessor with yet another BIOS, that's going beyond just having the main machine's BIOS opened sourced. You'd need to at least know how and what it interfaces with in the main system
Read Beals Et Al.'s study on brain size vs. climate termperature and infant nutrition. Bottom line, brain weight increases by lattitude regardless of race, and decreases also because of poor nutrition as an infant.
the utility of the letter F is obvious, it's needed for the F-word, which goes back at least 3,000 years.

I have this nifty bolt-on aftermarket kit for mine, now it only needs a beer can and banana peel

a meteorite is the remains of a meteor that has struck the earth.
you're supposed to open the clamshell with your mind and levitate the light saber to your hand, young jedi
or maybe everyone would be wiping their ass with them and flushing them. that would cause deflation of the money supply.

good thing they were up against Barney's Trek redshirts of litigation

Ultraman is lame, gigantor could kick his butt any day of the week
no, that's true for any huge collection software works written by team who's members have changed over decades.

enterprises also want paralleling clusters and failover clusters. The open source databases are getting there, give it few more years.
those that live in 15 story buildings made of glass tubes should not throw brick laptop power supplies.

lame Ubuntu is only a few apt-gets away from becoming a rockin Kubuntu.
but on the plus side, these new Cylons won't kill Friday 6pm to Saturday 6pm and some other holidays.

the point isn't the OS used, it's insecure the way things are done, running things like a home computer.
