If SCO aren't an island, then they must be attached to some other 'whatever' by something other than a bridge. Even if they burn all their bridges they'll not be out of touch. Unless of course they are an island, in which case they isolate themselves.
Well to be pedantic, the parent to my comment typed in two particular words. One of them was correctly spelt. As to their individual meanings, or the intended meaning of both words next to each other, I wouldn't wish to speculate.
Both of those are nightmares... remember, it's never the good looking girls that dress up as characters than guys lust after... only those that can't get guys to look at them any other way
That's not entirely true. Think for a moment what 'imperial' actually means. They are the system of measurements spread by the British Empire. Though the UK has moved over to using many metric units, we still use miles and pints, indeed with the level of drunk driving we use both at the same time. Also many here still use pounds (lbs) as a measurement and farenheit for temperature.
It would be speculation on my part, but I woldn't be too surprised if many other former members of the British Empire also use imperial measurements to this day.
Surely Capitalism should be contrasted to Communism as opposed to Socialism? One can have a capitalist and socialist system. eg the Labour party in the UK is socialist (ok, you can stop laughing now) yet the system is still capitalist.
A better comparison would be between conservatism (sticking to the old ways) and socialism (supposedly fairer and more inclusive of society).
Thank you very much for sending my the patch by e-mail, it saved me having to download it. But I tried to install it and it didn't work. I even tried it as root, I saved the attachment to file and double clciked it, then I ran it from the shell, but I just got errors. A friend told me it's windows format, not linux format, so could you please re-send me the patch, but this time in linux format?
No, it's not just you. Same here. Me too!!! I open every e-mail and run every attached executable, even if I don't know who it is from. And I've never had my computer affected with any virus or worm or trojan or whatever. Sure it crashes now and then, but all computers do, and sometimes I can't find my files... I probably didn't save them right in the first place or forgot where I put them. When it all gets really bad, the kid next door comes and fiddles with it, re-installs my system.. or something like that.. but that's just normal too.. windows has always been like this for me. And it's the best OS around, so thank god I don't have something worse.. like one of those hobby play operating systems!
> The worse thing about spam is that filtering systems create false positives...
No, that's not the worst thing about spam. Try again?
Anonymous Coward is a known troll. You know what to do, mods.

There have been a number of articles that paint McB' as a perfect moron. <-- Note correct spelling ;)
I hope not. I want to use a secure OS. And an OS that the NSA can infiltrate is not secure.
'Back braking' is two words. But congratulations on spelling one of them correctly. That's above average for /.
Try 'edible', sounds better, tastes just as bad.
Did you notice that Animatrix and Fanimatrix actually end with 'matrix' not just 'trix'?

If words fail you, what are you doing posting? ;)
I must be new here..
Yeah, Johnny Mnemonic certainly wasn't a story written by William Gibson.
Slashdot
Bondage, rape and casual sex. Stuff that matters.
The BBC covered this keypad in May last year and again in November .
> Great, they've removed some of the harsher language.
Yes, they changed fucking software patents to software patents .
> But Grandad, didn't you try to fight them?
Yes. I posted on slashdot!
What's been changed?
/.ers will start reading articles... maybe the trolls have all gone...
Perhaps
Yeah, my mum was saying something about that earlier, that's exactly what she wants.
In some industrties it really makes sense to stick to SI units. That is units which have been internationally standardised.

Ahhh.. that's why I don't qualify as a corporate user. Because I don't want to get any work done.
Phew!!! I'm safe then!
