> the world is going to have to learn that information wants to be free
Not true. Information doesn't want anything, and if it did, who gives a damn? _People_ want information to be free, and that's more important, business/govnt should care about what people _want_.
To be honest... on X for me it's mostly: highlight url, click in browser location bar, highlight address, middle click.. damn.. delete address, highlight url, click in location bar, middle click, phew.
I would say that evolution is a mechanism by which adaptations more suitable to the changing environment are propogated through a species/sub-species. However my opinion is that because mankind has the ability to alter its surroundings to suit itself.. that evolution is pretty much prevented from occuring. This does not mean that humanity has reached some ideal pinnacle.. just that we are preventing our own evolution. Afterall evolution would require the deaths of those unable to survive.. which contradicts most current morality by which we attempt to aid the most unfortunate. If evolution would occur via the deaths of thousands of unfortunates less able to compete... would we really regard ourselves as 'better' for just standing idly by and allowing that?
Perhaps evolution should now refer to the advancement of morality in humanity - and how we take better care of our fellow humans.. but we're not yet there.. maybe we can evolve..
Terrorism is about killing people and causing terror.
Yes they would sometimes call the police.. but then give very vague directions so that the most possible police time was wasted in searching for the bomb.. often without enough time to do it properly.. and not infrequently causing evacuation away form one place and closer to where the bomb really was.
And when the police can't find a bomb after a warning.. and then it blows up.. the police look stupid.. and the terrorists can try to act innocent saying they told the police where it was.. so if anyone is dead it is due to police incompetance.
There is more to terrorism than just simple killing.
Doh.. didn't you know that terrorists are highly organised?
They don't just meet face to face.. they first of all e-mail each other with the agenda of the next meeting detailing all the points to be discussed.. not to mention the minutes of the last meeting in case there is disagreement in how accurate they were.
In order to appear legal these e-mails are _always_ encrypted with Governmentally reccomended encryption programmes.
No it isn't. This clause won't affect how Frontpage is used. But it will allow Microsoft to try and pick on people they don't like that also happen to be Frontpage users.
One interesting thing to do would be to add metatags to any Anti-Microsoft website that claims it was made in Frontpage. Of course the site won't have been.. but who can prove it one way or the other?
Ha.. but I used worse language and got modded down less than you did... and that's what counts:)
Also I have the guts to say what I feel and post as myself.
I read this.. it's.. an amazing read. Also.. reading in comparison with many books about SAS missions.. it's remarkable how ineffective US forces can be. Not because of inferiority of the men. But due to the way they are commanded... more out of fear of public reaction than what's militarily best.
Accounts of well organised special forces missions shows us how easy it is to wage small secret wars.. and how to send small groups behind lines... just say where Osama bin Laden is.. and he could be snatched in an instant
What about American sources of funding for the IRA?
Sponsoring terrorism in allied countries is ok.. but when terrorism comes home... then there is outrage. It is time America realised that while terrorism is _always_ wrong... sometimes America isn't always in the right.
I imagine a very similar thing.. but instead of a line of people, a mob of people surrounding a person tied to a post. If each person throws just one brick... -- Azrael - The Angel of Death

Yes. UV can kill a virus even if it is inside the body. But this would require you slicing yourself thin enough so that the UV came into contact with the virus. Or finding some other way to get the UV _into_ the cells of your body. Sitting on the sun perhaps? -- Azrael - The Angel of Death

mob rule could be more fun than good ol' democracy
Doh!! Mob rule _is_ democracy! That's why in our modern advanced democracies we keep getting fucked over by massive groups of faceless people.
.. and cover.
Duck _and_ cover. Otherwise you're toast!!
To each according to their needs.. from each according to their ability.
