    Alternative option: Don't buy microsoft products.
    Don't buy a copy to play games.
    Don't buy a copy to do anything period.
    Encourage others to do the same.

    The individual might not have much impact on the mighty Microsoft, but we have to start somewhere.

    They're available online often, though I can understand not wanting to take the extra step. Ounce you have bought the software and read the EULA ((It being too long is not an excuse for not reading it)) you can still say no, and you can return it for the most part.

    Has everyone forgotten that we have the choice to just not buy the software? Its not food, nor is it water, we can live with out it. If you don't like what a company is doing, don't buy from them! If you don't like a company's EULA, don't buy from them! It's the same with piracy, if you don't like how much the company is charging don't get the product! It really is that simple.

    Shoot them into deep space? Not ideal, but it's hard to cause damage to an environment all ready saturated with radiation.

    As handy as IP validation is for the most part, it does make your site useless to any one working through a constantly changing proxy. A small audience, but still considerable.

    If an inventor, and that's exactly what software developers are, can be held accountable for how there creations are used by others then we are going to freeze innovation in its tracks. If someone is to invent a better engine can I sue them when a car using it hits me? How about those who invent better processors? Can I sue them because some script-kiddie uses a computer containing their invention to launch a DOS attack on my server? Of coarse I can't. An inventor can not be held accountable for improper use of his or her creations by others.

    Before you write off every comment of God did it as bunk double check why they are saying it. In this case they are probably looking at the Christian book of Genesis. In Genesis. we have God taking away the legs from a creature that it calls Snake, now we see that Snakes ounce had legs. Bit of an eerie coincidence isn't it?
