    the cellphone providers should be allowed to give customers the choice to have the unsolicited voicemails deleted automatically as soon as it is recorded, perhaps a whitelist so your voicemail will only accept voicemail from authorized callers like those in your contacts in your phone

    i would assume the worst, totally wipe windows off the drive, do a clean install without allowing windows internet access, reboot my dual boot system to Linux and then wait for the shitstorm to subside and then maybe boot up windows for offline only purposes and use Linux for a general purpose internet access OS

    dont be so dense, change browsers, i have three browsers installed, chromium, palemoon & seamonkey, i could install three more firefox, opera and vivaldi, use them with my discretion,. but if the govt goons & spooks really wanted to watch you they could do it at the ISP by your IP address so it would not matter what app you used to access the internet they got your NUMBER

    when somebody gets a driver's licence or state ID card they are issued a unique number besides their drivers licence number on the back of the licence, and it identify s you to any website you log in to things like banks and making purchases at amazon or google, but people can still use their old anonymous login IDs for non-essential websites like craigslist or facebook or twitter or slashdot etc...

    GNU/FOSS is the way to go if you want at least a reasonable sense of peace of mind as to what your PC or laptop is actually running, even if you dont audit the code yourself at least it is open source and the GNU/FOSS Open Source community can look though it. so if any bugs or strange behavior appears it can be fixed or if some dirty crook tries to sneak something nefarious in the software it will be found and routed out

    Kudos to RMS & Torvalds and the GNU/FOSS community at large

  14. if they are flooded with noise making them useless then unique IDs will be unreachable to their tools still making their clever hack useless, if turning off the microphone is not easy or not possible just bury their spyware in noise

    by building top quality alternative OS that is 100% compatible with third party Windows applications and sell it at half the price microsoft sells windows for, i tried ReactOS and found it to be a worse piece of crap than just using wine or virtualbox on Linux

    to build better and more secure operating systems? thats where the problem really is, if the operating systems and their applications used to access the internet were secure then the problem would be solved, asking the ISPs to do this would slow the internet speeds down to a really slow crawl

    if every file had to be scanned for viruses prior to being downloaded/uploaded, that sort of system would make a 56k dialup look fast

    it is already a container, and you are using virtual box to run ubuntu which is a container too, you have a container within a container, like those Russian dolls within dolls, i think it would be best to run a container up on a native system to not add layers of complexity to a system that is already complex on its own (plus its an alpha release and still not ready for prime-time) but i hope it does make good progress because i love both Linux and android
