The iphone costs $400, right? Can't they make healthy profit selling at that price? They've sold 600 or 700 thousand of the phones already, and many of them at the original price of $600... the development costs have be recouped.. sheesh
I dont' have the link right now but I think it was Russ Winters that explained why the ratings agencies failed so miserably for the last few years. One would assume they investigated what were in these complex securities being sold and make their judgement based on that. What happened was the rating agencies never looked and rated securities based on who was selling them.
ya, that's right.. when you spend $600 on an iPhone, it's not really yours...somehow Apple still owns the device and is in the right when they destroy, confiscate or disable it.
how many companies listed on the exchange even give dividends anymore? Not many.. stick that junk in your mutual fund and you've become a speculator, not an investor. The money goes to the top, ceos deserve big 8 figure bonuses.. why bother supporting a bunch of greasy haired hippies? That makes no sense from a ceo's perspective.
but it doesn't surprise me. long gone are the days when americans would earn an honest living working in a steel plant, building cares, mining or in my case producing adult video entertainment. Nowadays everybody wants to sue and get rich very quickly. Is it any wonder our currency keep losing its value in the world?
that miguel releases under a true oss licence should be treated with extreme caution and prejudice. Who knows where this guys eyes have been. All of his code is tainted as far as I'm concerned, unfortunately any Novell contributer should be treated in the same light as well. This SOB is on the microsoft payroll and it will come back to haunt the oss community in a few years.
Hey Miggy, how much $$$$ did microsoft deposit into your swiss bank account for spewing that kind of utter fucking bullshit? You are one sad motherfucker.
just let the market have it's way and everything will be fine and dandy. Except the only things we'll end up with are cures for erectile dysfunction, manhandled leg syndrome and purple pills that do something truly wonderful but you have to talk to your doctor to find out.
i wouldnt' worry too much about all of this. After the USD collapses and sinks to the bottom of the sea this whole game by SCO, the RIAA, and all these other companies that depend on "intellectual capital" will evaporate. The USD closed under 80 today, bernanke will not cut rates (but I hope he will just to sink the dollar even further).. inflation that the u.s. consumer has never seen is on the horizon and cannot be stopped. The games these CEO's want to play are over with.. it was fun, but time has run out.
that someone in the whitehouse ordered this b-52 crew to attack american cities with nuclear weapons, but the flight crew chickened out @ 40 thousand ft. Looks like Cheney will have to make some calls to the hidden monsters in his black rolidex to carry this mission out, taking down the twin towers was not enough for this power hungry son of a bitch. His future plans for america will make 9/11 look like a walk through the park.. get ready folks.
we had to go in there and take him out because what he might have done. you can pretend he didn't have weapons of mass destruction but what if he did? Would you be willing to see the evidence in the form of a mushroom cloud over american skies ? I think not. Next stop Iran, we can't wait to find out that they really have nuclear weapons.. ahmadimajhad will pass those nukes off to al queda and that would be the end of america..
Nobody is forcing people to work there, if the company wants to require employees be tagged with RFID there shouldn't be a problem with that because the potential employee has a choice.
"employment history, past residences and any illegal drug use."... have absolutely nothing to do with integrity and loyalty. Although I'm sure they can be used to discriminate against people who don't fit into a certain right-wing profile."
didn't the pot-smoking Carl Sagan work at nasa for a few years?
this stuff never surprises me but what does surprise me is that someone in the u.s. hasn't decided to fix the situation on their own.. a few years the virginia sniper assassinated a dozen or so people with impunity., greed is what got him caught , he was looking for a grand prize, and the feds never like it when someone wants to take something that belongs to them (money)...
with all the loose nuts roaming the streets in the u.s. i'm surprised they haven't taken the law into their own hands already and fixed the "ceo problem"... the patent trolls, the lawyers, etc.... sometimes it's an unbelievably well behaved society, what makes it that way?
companies that build & operate toll road and highways? Do they have the same kind of power to regulate what elected governments do? say if a county wanted to build a new road from scratch would they need to consult various third parties beforehand and try to figure out a fair solution.. because free publically accessible roads means someone is not making a profit.. and that's not fair..
not exactly true.. if you're at the game while it's happening and you are making that description to consumers in real-time, you are a reporter and subject to the rules of mlb.

wise words, brother. But I'm not sure this kind of technology will go over well, wouldn't it be easier just to give them one of these.. they look cooler too.
what are the royalty rates like up there?

I still have the first four issues wrapped up in plastic. Hopefully they'll be worth something on ebay one day.
they should get used to the government spying on them. they have no right to complain. Fuck them.
does this mean that the CEO's running SCO will be going to prison because of this?
