  1. sucks. on Vonage Admits They Have No Workaround · · Score: 1

I've been using vonage for 9 months now, service has been pretty good... not good enough to run a business on (like the commercials suggest.) But overall I've been happy with the $20/month deal. Previously I was paying $60-$75/month with Bell Canada, not even a year and I've saved a lot of money. But it has me wondering.. this is all about a patent in the united states, it probably doesn't mean much for the vonage in Canada except that the technology that makes the vonage system work is so intertwined between the two countries that I'll be paying $50/month pretty soon, when whichever competitor gobbles up vonage for the lowest bid.

I take exception to that remark because Cringely is just a tool whereas most people recognize Art Bell as a serious investigator of the paranormal, a professional respected by collegues in his field. Art Bell has uncovered and revealed many dark secrets about google on his show, including their plans to harvest energy from the unborn. A caller to the show who only identified himself as "Mr. X" claimed to have been part of a team that designed the amorphous bio-pod that the unborn would be stored in, in a semi-concious state of dreaming stasis whereby quantum energy guides would capture excess xeon particles for current generation. I'm sorry if you missed it because the truth about google's plans will blow the lid off of civilization once it's known.

Hrm, the article mentions a toronto hospital, the "Hospital for Sick Children." The hospital page says they are affiliated with the University of toronto and that their funding has two sources,

"Funding for research activities and operations comes from two sources. Internal funding -- roughly one third of the Research Institute's budget -- comes from community donors through SickKids Foundation. Founded in 1972 to support research and education at The Hospital for Sick Children, the Foundation has granted more than $225 million to the hospital for research.

External funding comes from peer-reviewed grants awarded to our researchers, as well as from research contracts with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, government agencies and non-profit foundations."

    Hospital for Sick Children link

It's not clear who funded the research into this project, if it was sponsored by a BioTech company or if it was funded through the general hospital funds.

Let's not automatically assign credit to the scorched-earth biotech companies of this world just because we're biased in their favor. It would be nice if we could make a profit from this discovery but it looks like the socialist canadian health care system should be given credit for this one.
