respect his privacy? He's the CEO of a publicly traded company worth hundreds of Billions of dollars. The health of the CEO is material information that should be disclosed to investors, not hidden away. This is especially true for an organization that lives & breathes the the cult of personality.
If Steve Jobs wants his privacy to be respected then I suggest he resign his position from apple. Until then he is fair game.
Agree with the parent. Trusting the NY Times to publish the unvarnished truth is wishful thinking. Watch the first 2 minutes of the interview below. The NYT's executive editor Bill Keller admits that the government censors their publication,
The location of the sensors matters a great deal to the accuracy of the historical record. A sensor located in a city of 5,000 in 1950 is not providing an accurate comparison if that city is now 200,000. And did they move the sensor (which happens frequently) and how do the prevailing winds in combination with the urban heat island effect that sensor now that the city has quadrupled in size?

The writers of this torjan likely didn't so they sat around for a few nights investigating it... likely chatting to each other on irc describing their angst in finding the numbers... and then after a few successful prank calls to the south pole confirmed, all hell commenced:-) Laugh...

Between uploading videos to youtube, video conferencing with my parents and brother, daily ubuntu updates and a few movie downloads I exceed 60 gigs every month.
Everytime I'm about to stick it in Paris Hilton's beautiful snatch someone wakes me up.... they have no appreciation for these moments and it frustrates me to no end!!
And that's a problem... why? Seriously, if someone wants to kill themself, as long as they are not leaving a burden on the people they are leaving behind, what's the big deal?
If anybody commits suicide after reading your comment then expect a visit by the police because I believe you just encouraged many people to call it quits, you murderer.
Whats the big deal? Publish the data.. so what? Maybe someone will find a few errors and then it can be corrected. IMHO its a great idea... if some climate denier wants to mangle the data they should be free to do so, so what? Its not like their bullshit will be published in scientific journals.... it will die a quiet death in the extremists blogs.
Nothing to be afraid of here.. in fact, these guys should be proud of the work they did and be willing to give to everyone that asks.
