I used to walk to school when I was a kid. What is sadder, not allowing your kids to walk to school or fearing not being able to stick them in a car and send them a mile or two.
Seriously I don't get it, are they saying there are more dimensions?
The article shows images of 2d things being wrapped around 3d things. So are they not saying by extension that our 3d universe is potentially wrapped in more dimensions, otherwise how could it be anything other than 3d.
And a 2d universe can't bend because it is a f**king 2d universe otherwise it wouldn't be a ruddy 2d universe it'd be a 3d universe.
So how much space are all of these updates going to take? Are they going to magically be 5x as big as the download once installed. It bugs me that Win7 needs 30gig of my SSD.
I though the idea of Dynamic linked libraries was shared code to save space, I get the impression that over 90% of code is not used and there are multiple copies of multiple versions of each DLL. The system doesn't work, you might aw well just compile the code you need and scrap DLLs.
Whilst the character was solidly in the uncanny valley, I though the real impressive stuff was the big outdoor scenes. Of course youtube decimated the quality, a torrent link would be better.
But this took thousands of dollars of graphics card, I'd hate to see the framerate for 1 sensibly price card.
He could also criticise the millions of deaths due to fossil fuel pollution or the potential destruction of nearly all ocean life due to acidification. There's a lot more than climate change to worry about. Ocean life was just valued at $24 trillion, I'd call it priceless.
Bring on the autonomous cars, humans are crap drivers including the 'professionals' who drive for a living and think that their crap driving is somehow ok because "I passed an advanced driving test".
Cars right now are built like tanks to protect the occupants, if they weren't prone to crashing they wouldn't need to weigh 2 tons. If people hired autonomous cars they could hire small vehicles when they are going alone and larger vehicles when they are taking the family etc.
We don't have the storage technology available to achieve greater than around 20% grid penetration of wind/solar anywhere except for a small handful of places (namely Denmark, who is next to Norway, who have a HUGE hydro power reserve that they can throttle up/down in response to Denmark's supply/demand.)
If they can actually extract the CO2 from the air like they say then the system is carbon neutral. Zero pollution, it can be generated from renewable energy, it is a good solution to the variable output of wind energy - create a fuel and use when required.
It sounds too good to be true, what's the catch? Is CO2 extraction horribly expensive?
The article claims a machine is more sanitary. But think about it, food gets everywhere, is a robot going to clean the machine? or a human? It's only more sanitary if it is cleaned thoroughly and regularly otherwise bacteria and mold could run rife.
Galaxy Note 2 been going strong for about 3 years, I don't recall it ever crashing, I think I may have rebooted it a couple of times for obscure reasons - big OS update and me messing with phone. I've never noticed any slowdowns or quirkiness after time. Used lots to browse web and play games and use map apps.
Yawn, Pentagon gets hacked regularly I'm sure. This isn't news - it's been made news because some bigwig wants to demonise Russia, hence scary Russian hackers story.
Absolutely, I never bought a blu-ray player because there was always talk of DRM related playback issues - especially for the PC. Also they didn't drop in price like DVD and CD Drives, I suspect that's because of a shit-load of DRM patents.
Same thing in London with 'Thames Water' who are owned by some foreign bunch who take a £quarter billion+ in profit from us Londoners every year and amazingly manage to not pay tax on that profit (legalised tax evasion). Thames Water have had many many years to fix the leaks which amount to a quarter of all water being lost - equivalent to nearly 10 litres per person per day lost.

Please tick the box that sums up the way you feel about drones:
[ ] People should be able to fly drones near airports where they can crash into planes.
[ ] People should be able to fly drones at night causing a noise nuisance.
[ ] Drones should be regulated so they can't fly near my house at night or crash into planes.
The British public don't give a flying fuck about drones, just because some people picked the answers in a quiz that sounded good doesn't change this.
Are you sure? Maybe everything in the universe shrunk.
If *everything* expanded then surely it shouldn't look any different.

This sh*t doesn't make any sense.

So if I stick my microwave in the back of the car and shoot it, it'll make my car go faster?
I say psychologists can't take a joke and mod down jokers as trolls. Or perhaps they're all just mad.

I don't care if people believe in global warming or climate change, fossil fuels are still killing us and this planet regardless.

Mod parent up, the Sun is absolutely not a paper to be trusted, it's pure trash, just look at their webpage:
The Sun | The Best for News, Sport, Showbiz, Celebrities | The Sun (title by them not me)
And the paper is not interested in serious news, why would they even bother? Next months story will be 'How we caught a traitor with our tor trap'.
Totally wrong.

Some people are jinxed I swear.

NSA, CIA of course never hack anybody.

It is 'wow'
Food is a necessary condition for civilisation, hydroelectric plants aren't. There were prior civilisations to ours, they didn't have electricity.
Do you know what is needed to live a good life? Plentiful air, water, food, a good home, good people.
"Ancient Egypt is a canonical example of an early culture considered a civilization."
"The energy made by windmills can be used in many ways. These include grinding grain or spices, pumping water and sawing wood."
Can Civilization Reboot? Food would be our primary concern... And booze!
