Not the same as down south. Been there, done that, glad to be away from it. Here in Minnesota, we get the snow, the ass-freezing cold, and the biting wind chill, but typically avoid most of the ice.
PL/1 was the language taught in the only programming class I ever took. I wonder if I still have the textbooks for that class buried somewhere in the basement.
If it's taken you 12 continuous years, you're either doing something you really love with no strong desire to move on, or you've done something very, very wrong.
I installed it, ran the server (which gave me only 1024x768 on my 1680x1050 monitor) and the demos. My monitor doesn't return a valid EDID - no problem with X, I just create xorg.conf with an appropriate modeline, and I'm good to go. The demos, such as they are, appear to run properly without crashing, but I want to write my graphical apps in Python, rather than C++. Bottom line - I won't be switching to Mir in the immediate future.
Fedora, Mint, Ubuntu. I run all three. Mint for Cinnamon, the other two (with LXDE desktops) because sometimes one just works better than the other. Pissing matches are those who've been drinking too much beer.
Even I know more than one programming language, and I'm not even sure I qualify as a good programmer (my first professional research publication included a horrible piece of spaghetti code written in HP BASIC for the HP 9845).

I would have modded you up, but just wanted to add that not only is it crappier service, it's more expensive
and the only substance harder is natural and synthetic diamond.
I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but there are substances haeder than corundum yet softer than diamond. SiC and BN come to mind
I got rid of my LT 1400 long, long ago. Don't know if I still have any early 90s vintage floppies lying in a box somewhere in my basement.
Much better than developing recipes for a food truck
As I recall, those 8" floppies really didn't hold much data (I'm too old to recall how much they did hold)
I agree - give cinnamon a try

Hey, NSA: ~$ rpm -q wget wget-1.15-1.fc21.x86_64
Yes

Some Southeast Asian countries don't even have the proper infrastructure in place to dispose of the bags properly.
Do they have the proper infrastructure in place to dispose of the bags improperly?

I used a floppy disk just last month. Now get off my lawn!
Or, perhaps ÂYo puedo tengo hamburgueza con quezo? Surely there's someone on Slashdot thqat can do a proper translation for us

Do you really mean ÂYo puedo tener hamburguesa con queso?

Actually, using the programming language you know best may indeed be the most efficient way to go - depends on the problem
Compton also works nicely with Lubuntu and the Fedora LXDE spin
But we now have commercials and signs to do the zipper merge!

It does. AltaVista ROCKED in its day. Of course the same could be said about Wordperfect and Lotus 123 too, but who remembers those anymore.
Alas, I knew them all so well. I even remember Wordstar and Visicalc. I must be old.
plus the programmers learned by example from the boss, who learned by example from the boss, who learned by example...
This does not go on ad-infinitum. COBOL is younger than I am. Now, get off my lawn!
Kind of like writing HelloWorld! in umpeen different programming languages
