    Just look at Amtrak. Prices are too high and it is going broke.

    Hardly anybody really uses a transit system in the U.S. That is why they have to paid for by the taxpayers. More people pay for bus and train systems than actually use them. The city I live in, opted out years ago because it was costing about $35,000 per year per rider. Whenever you look at actual cost per user, it isn't worth it. Just more waste of my money.

    "debt doesn't matter" is not a conservative philosophy. It is a politician's philosophy. Conservatives do not spend what they do not have.

    He just put off the bad economy by using short term loans.
    Actually, I am talking about the lib philosophy "do whatever feels good at the moment and screw any consequences later". Or, the politician's philosophy of "do whatever works to better my position and screw the rest of the country".

    We need to take Shakespeare's idea one step further "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers and politicians"!

    It will run on every OS that is popular enough for people to care in 5 years. That means it will still run on XP. There are no new features even on Win7 that Firefox needs for running. The same APIs are still present that was on XP. XP will probably still be around in large numbers in 10 years. It is somewhat lean and very stable and secure. Vista and Win7 do not really bring any more value to the user, just prettier paint.

    Instead of bashing someone who decides to spend the money to implement a solution, why don't you just compete with them. Scan these books yourself and offer them online.

    Wrong answer. They are 16 and 17 and I know exactly. We talk a lot about these things, they are encouraged and are proud of what they post and want to share with us. They also watch each other as well as answer to their friends and friends parents on what they do. It isn't hard if you foster this kind of relationship with your kids and stay an interested and active part of their social, school, and church lives. (It also helps to be the house that all the kids want to hang out in).

    The parent or owner of the phone service needs to go to jail for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child porn. My children will not and would not do such a thing with their phone or facebook because I monitor what they are doing daily as well as other parents and kids. Any real parent would not let this happen.

    At one point in history, every known "scientist" had proven the Earth was flat. Those that were alive when proven wrong really had egg on their faces.

    I can't wait until evolution as the origin of life is proven wrong so all of the current "scientists" are embarrassed as well. Currently, there is more proof that evolution isn't the origin of life than is. That will never change.

    I can borrow a lot of books from the library as well as read them at home on my computer for way less money. It's just too expensive and then, you still have to buy the books.

    There are no monopolies on this. Monopolies denotes monopolistic behavior and since there are alternative service (at all location), this doesn't exist. Just because company B doesn't decide to compete with company A doesn't make company A a monopoly.
