When it became "a taxi, but paying drivers less and trying to get out of the same regulations for no other reason than somehow being 'cooler' than taxi companies", a lot of deserved criticism came about.
If that's the case, then why isn't everyone piling on Lyft as well?
There are plenty of reasons to dislike Uber; serving on Donald Trump's advisory board is insignificant compared to those.
And coincidentally, most of those "reasons" only emerged after the Trump controversy. That's because tech journalists suddenly lined-up to put the company under the critical microscope and its liberal employees suddenly started spouting the usual-suspect "Toxic masculinity"/"Hostile work environment" charges that inevitably now follow any company leader refusing to wear his requisite "Trump is Hitler!!" t-shirt.
It's always good to remember that a lot of this Uber-basing that has become so fashionable in Silicon Valley and tech journalism today started when Uber's CEO Travis Kalanick dared to *GASP* serve on a Donald Trump advisory panel! When that happened, suddenly all the gushing "Ain't Uber great!" articles disappeared overnight and were replaced with an endless string of "Uber ate my baby!!!!" articles with the underlying thesis that Uber is the root of all evil in the world.
Of course, Uber followed up with the pandering move of booting said heretic CEO out and replacing him with a certified Trump-bashing Iranian immigrant CEO who takes every opportunity to remind everyone how great it is that H1B's are taking American jobs. But that pathetic move not only didn't appease SJW's, but it pretty much ensured that *everyone* was onboard the "Fuck you, Uber!" train.
Sadly, these days EVERYTHING is political. And you have to look at any news reporting VERY critically anytime even a tertiary political connection to pro-Trump or anti-Trump partisans is involved.
Just look at all the shit videogames get from "journalists" these days if they don't check off every single Trump-bashing/"diversity" checkbox.
Her main supposition is that the videos that will be censored will, of course, be the ones that disagree with her own specific brand of liberal politics. And that will probably be true at first. But what never occurs to her or her ilk is that someday the winds could change out of nowhere, and it could become *their* speech that's suddenly being censored. When you create the censorship machine, it's pretty arrogant to think that only you and your allies will ever control it.
Robespierre sent many men to the guillotine in the name of the Revolution, until the day the Revolution turned against him and it was him being marched to the platform. On that day he realized all-too-late that the oppression you create today can easily be turned on right back on you tomorrow.
If by "accountability" you mean that they'll have to pay a fine that's a fraction of the money they stole and not face any actual jail time, then yes. That'll teach potential future fraudsters!
The only demand I'm seeing is for H1Bs and diversity hires. Sure they're are plenty of *ads* for jobs, but 99.9% of those are put there by recruiters with no actual jobs available for non-H1Bs/non-females/non-minorities, or mandatory posts for jobs where they already have someone in particular in mind (usually an H1B). AFAICT, there are very few actual jobs available for U.S. citizens, especially if you're a white male (who can't check off any diversity quotas) or outside of a few select cities that no one can afford to live in anyway.
No, the issue is that every outlying country shouldn't get to determine worldwide copyright law for everyone else on the internet. It's bad enough that the U.S. has such sway on internet copyright. Now Germany wants to take it even further?
So what happens when Botswana decides that copyright lasts forever, huh?
A new supergerm gets discovered at nearby Emory at the same time a CDC researcher disappears and we see an unusual spike in flu deaths? Someone get Art Bell on the phone, pronto!
The secret to getting away with a bullshit promise is to set the promised payoff so far in the future that you'll be long gone by the time people realize you were full of shit. See every American President for the last 50 years who's promised we'll put a man on Mars just 30 years after he leaves office.
The name is meant to imply that it's comparable to OLED technology, but the reality is that it's just regular old LED technology. It IS NOT anywhere nearly as good as real OLED. And only LG makes *real* OLEDs, not Samsung.
That sounds much more fair than sending him to a crazy country that locks up a startlingly large fraction of its own population.
As opposed to the crazy country that's about to imprison a man for making a joke on the internet?

Maybe she was riding one of those Russian stealth bicycles.
"And now it will be used to hunt the most dangerous prey of all," said a guy somewhere petting a cat.
"Who's a weak force *now*, bitch?" responded gravity.

Now that that's cleared up, we can get back to blaming the NRA and scary looking guns.

That's how it works, right?
Bionic Beaver.
I knew a girl with one of those once. They had the technology and her parents really wanted her to succeed in Hollywood.
Yeah, except the internet isn't just in their country. It's everywhere.

Lol, you beat me too it. Look out kids--cause no one wants to be known as that-person-who-got-killed-by-a-toilet-seat.
Nooooo! Flippy want to live!
The worst part is when they try to do the accent and get it all wrong.

Fucking whitewashing.
Spoiler alert, the 132-year-old science experiment turns out to be Madonna.
I'm just surprised that enough people are still using VR to even notice.
