There's ultimately no way for a portable to match the full consoles in power, right? So this is pretty clearly a departure from the Xbone / PS4 market, which they were only arguably sorta in to begin with.

What's interesting, however, seems to be the fact that all of the computing is done in the tablet portion, which is itself relatively small, even by tablet standards, suggesting that it'll have some serious constraints in terms of the horsepower they can cram in there.
To me, this looks like Nindendo's backdoor way of getting out of the home console business altogether. This is basically a handheld that you can also attach to your TV. It looks more like a rival to the PS Vita than the PS4.
My guess would be it will basically function as a PS Vita that also plugs into your TV--only with much shittier online capabilities and much less 3rd party games. The detachable controllers just look like a gimmick to me.
Of course, this is Nintendo, so they will sell like crazy at first. Then a year or two later, they'll all be gathering dust in closets as people realize that the games suck, online play sucks, Xbox and PS are still way more powerful, and the novelty has worn off. A new Mario game can only carry you so far, after all.

And Obama is telling everyone that they need to take Computer Science courses to take advantage of this massive tech labor shortage that supposedly exists (even though an awful lot of highly skilled programmers who aren't in on this scam are saying they can't find a job these days).
Because suing cost money and most of the time the powerful corporation with deep pockets and much netter lawyers on retainer will crush you. It's the American Way. And with a massive corporate whore about to win the Presidency, it's probably only going to get worse.
VR isn't what killed Valve's game development. Steam did. It's much easier to just sit back and let Steam print you shit-tons of money by taking a percentage of other people's games than to engage in the expensive and risky work of making your own. That's why we'll never see Half-Life 3 as long as Steam is still viable. Why deal with the hassle of developing it and the potential backlash if it disappoints when you can just relax and watch the money flow in instead?

Sadly, most Americans won't even recognize his name, since we've been propagandized for so long to only hear about the NASA side of the story. If the Soviets get mentioned at all in the story, it's only that they launched a little satellite that prompted the United States to create the GREATEST SPACE PROGRAM EVEEEEER! No mention of Sergei Korolev and how he went from slaving in a gulag to accomplishing virtually every space "first" in less than 20 years.
I would probably be a spoiled brat too if I had been raised by parents who taught me that political power is the only thing that matters, and that it can buy you out of any moral responsibility.
It probably also wouldn't help if everything in my life were just handed to me because of my parents' political clout, without me ever having to actually earn anything on my own or even having get a real job that wasn't just handed to me on a silver platter.
