According to Political Compass, on the right side of the line are people FOR the severest punishment in child rape cases... This is a country of with deep convictions about justice, dignity and personal responsibility. I hope it is what always separates us from the weakness (aka leftness) found in many other "first world" nations.
At least for me, it's not even the year of Santa on the Windows VM desktop on the Linux desktop... I installed the silly plugin and got a black screen instead of Santa. No 3D acceleration, or something.
The Volt gets pretty good gas mileage because, it, uh, doesn't run on gas. I think it's hard to even compare the Volt and a "hybrid" or any car where locomotion is directly tied to an internal combustion engine. The Volt is a true EV that has a gasoline engine to watch over the battery. If you drive under a 40 mile "session", the gas engine won't need to start... ever. Imagine that, from a near dead American car company that also makes 400+ HP hot rods. What else? I don't think GM licenses hybrid technology from Toyota... They seem to be doing pretty well without Toyota's help. I am reasonably sure GM's 2 mode hybrid system is also more sophisticated, albeit different, from Toyota's "synergy drive". I saw my first Tahoe hybrid the other day. Sure strange listening to a big SUV "whine" quietly and drive off.
VMware is already doing better than Citrix. They both posted 4th quarter earnings reports. VMware did better than expected. Citrix did worse. In bad economic times, generally, the weak get weaker and the strong get stronger. The post is just a plug for Citrix.
And in support of your argument against "choice" and "40 buggy, half-assed apps", you recommend, ummmmm Windows Vista? Don't bother waking me up, if that is your answer. And to everyone else, Sweet Dreams.
I generally can't tell the difference between the things I don't like on my beloved Fedora vs. similar issues on friend's Ubuntu systems. Come on, people. The religion is Linux.
...but who knows, detroit is getting desperate and I bet there's some skunk works action going on there...
I agree with you wholeheartedly, but I am always dismayed by what seems to be almost stubborn resistance to the fact that Detroit is deeply involved in not only researching but producing high tech vehicles that Americans want right now.
Obviously, my mother in law was not a part of this study. I weekly remind her what a "browser" is, and how to start a "browser".:/ I think the problem is that for most adults, a major hurdle is sparking the desire to learn something new. For obvious reasons, why bother?
What about refunds/exchanges for defective mp3s? I sampled a song that had a slow playback, then purchased it anyway, and sure enough, the full song plays back at about minus 10% normal rate (Dr Dre's Bitches and Hos... heh, heh). It was the very first song I listened to on the site. I wonder how many other songs have similar problems. I wrote customer service about the issue, but haven't heard back, yet.
use lynx in a terminal to view it. all of a sudden, the article appears to be the prominent feature, instead of the distracting ads and images. enlightening low tech.
We have done very well versus Linux on the desktop...
I can't believe he'd admit that there was even competition there! He must have recently "enjoyed" a demonstration of the latest Xorg and Gnome releases running on a slick, responsive, Linux kernel.
We already accept crap like this and nobody complains about it at all. Doesn't your DVD player disallow you from skipping past the federal warning about copying, redistributing, etc.? I keep pressing FFwd! FFwd! and an annyoying little "Stop That" symbol pops up until the warning screen passes.
It does NOT cost thousands of dollars to build a MythTV system. I have a good, used Dell, $225 and a used tuner card (PVR-150), $65. Mix with the obvious desire to read MythTV HOWTOs and stubbornness to spend endless hours troubleshooting your new PVR. Voila.

What kind of article of this kind doesn't include some interesting photos? I'm enraged! I have no interest in READING about this stupid plane!

Since when was it appropriate to say "Frickin'" in any official announcement? Oh, wait. Here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2YX6FsoMIY

I tried to enter a device in this event, but they wouldn't let me.
I thought "entering a device" was the whole point of this event.

blah, blah, Ubuntu, blah, not Fedora, blah... Just shut up and enjoy your distribution.
