    Poison gas *can* cause mass destruction; but it's easier for the secondary effects of Nukes (radiation) and biological agents (sickness, death) to cause problems. Poison gas is only effective over a limited area, whereas radiation spreads and kills people over long periods of time.

    Yeah, this sounds like it will have all sorts of problems with things like transferral of goods... things like first sale doctrine will be very hard to use with this system.

    if it's anything like steam, they'll get it running. Perhaps you should talke to Stardock and let them know that making impulse wine-compatible would be in their best interest financially; the word of mouth advertising would be pretty effective.

    They usually release it, then port it. That's the case here, I believe. In a few months, we'll have a proper linux port.

    Multiwinia doesn't have DRM as far as I know :) That's a pretty cool-looking game, I gotta say. Introversion does an AWESOME job with their games, in all reality.

    Plus, they run on Linux natively! :D

    But there's a flaw with that - you're still spending *your* resources to keep it at bay; either you're spending your time (answering the door) or money (building a 'guard').

    It's not an issue of free speech, per se. It's an issue of "are they allowed to use OTHER PEOPLE'S RESOURCES to do it". That's what it comes down to. If they want to post it on the web, dandy. But the moment they send that shit to my inbox, filling it needlessly, then it's wrong.

    Truth be told, the new xVM from sun (they bought VirtualBox) is pretty good. Certainly better than VB used to be, since it'll now actually boot windows XP and stuff. If their bare metal stuff is as good, I may just jump ship here.

    It's not that we should be worried about... it's this utter bullshit of tax payer dollars investigating civil matters. If the RIAA wants to fucking sue, they can do it with their own fucking money, worthless bastards. Why should *my* tax dollars be used to boost the profits of *any* corporation?

    And yes, there's a difference between incentive and handout.

    The wireless is encrypted, which wreaked havoc in ubuntu. It's the *wired* connection where they enforce the AV. And they use that bullshit cisco clean access thing to enforce it. Really, a huge waste of money and time.
