come on people... seriously. What can this tax be? 2
We currently switched to Vonage, for their Unlimited 24.99/month plan. if I pay tax n this, its going to be what? 2 or 3 bucks on top? that is still $25 bucks cheaper than your average phone bill. Even less if you considder how longdi distance is in included in my bill. I think its alright to pay that tax.
Yup I noticed... I got the skills... apparently the people reading them in their wresite lack thee skiills of reading... I just wanted to work aon their store at Columbia Mall in Maryland, in the business strategy dept. but they apparently do not appreciate my experience.:(
I am trying to land a job at apple. but I get the usual, you have to apply through the website...:( does anyone here who works at apple or worked at apple has some tips on getting hired by apple?
Well my idea is a tad more complex but I think in this age and time its doable. Just like drivers license and other type of ID have an expiration date. Something contained in a nanosized enclosure that could be injected to the bloodstream and doesnt degrade until X amount of time could happen. Like every 5 years.
I would submit myself to that, I find it to be hassle-less in some cases, as long as there are no medical disadvantages.
If you have worked the industy as I have worked it for the past 10 years (iknow i sound like a hooker, then again im a gaming whore), you can guess this entire concept was a PR stunt specially with this line:
While the code-name "Revolution" expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer.
This line is a Reggie Fils-Aime line, (for those who ask, he is the chief marketing officer of Nintendo).
This wa sto be expected as companies happen to pull miraculous stunts when E3 comes out so people start blahing about long forgotten products.
I think that Apple has to release their "cheapo" line soon. I for one would like a laptop but i am not ready to dunk $2000 on one. I own a PowerMac G5, so its not an Apple thing, its a money thing...;)
Either that or just go and get an imac... but I want a Mac laptop!!! and cheap to boot. (and no not a g4)
My first computer was an Apple IIe. It cost my folks around $3000 it was around 1983 or so... After that they bought me a 386, then a 486, then i bought my first P1 on my own... but i kind of upgraded the parts till i got to P3 where i jumped to AMD.
On my professional life, I have owned 3 Silicon Graphics, first I landed my hands on an O2, I made friends with a local SGI dealer whom lent me a copy of Maya 1, and I did an awesome demo for them which landed them lots of sales. One day the guy calls me and tells me, "Hey G. your computer is here pick it up...", I was like "my what?" So I head over there and they got me a brand new O2. The machine ran in the $5K plain.. mine had the works. Later on I sold it for $6,000 and with $4,000 more i had saved I bought myself an Octane, which I got it souped up too thanks to my friends in SGI, then a coupel of years later SGI was announcing their DREADED Visual Station, and I got the mofo one.. with all the SCSI and Dual P3 (sloted CPU) 600Mhz. In paper and theoretically it kicked ass, but when it finally launched it SUCKED big time. MS never delivered the FireWire options.. it was a shit. Then I got stuck with that machine till I bought an AMD Athlon... My last computer, and the one I like the most was the one I aquired this last fall. I love it. Its the QuadMac with 4gb of ram... hopefully it should last me a lifetime...
Servers on the other hand, I managed to lowlevel hack the local university's Digital VAX and eventually landed on their Digital Unix DEC's. Ahh the wonderful days of mosaic...;)
ive always wondered if that works... if you dont mind me asking, what is your average revenue of those ads? doesnt have to be the exact ammount, but more of a ballpark figure...?
That is inconsistent. Running Wow under Rosetta is not going to make it look like there is no lag in ogrimmar. What time did she connected, how busy was ogrimmar... heck I get no lag in ogrimmar at 6am on a pacific server... So just saying that running wow under rosetta and there is not lag is sheer stupidity. Because wow is going to run with less performance under rosetta than it will natively.
Just wanted to know if there are any security problems in Office for Mac, as they exist in Office for windows. No trying to start a flame war, just wondering if unlike office in windows using office on mac is more reliable.
I use office for mac on the office a lot, i dont want it to disappear like explorer or wmp did. One of the features i like on office for mac is that I find it more secure than its sister in windows. Why is this? is it because osx is more secure than windows or is it the programming in Office for mac is tighter?
If a retard were driving a ferrari, do you even think he would figure out how to install Windows on a mac? Further more, if the same retarded kid was driving the same ferrari, he would prolly crash and total the car before he realizes he has to break... what makes you think he will install a troublesome OS like Windows and be able to play FEAR...
What I mean is... One of the things Apple has enjoyed a long time before people on Intel/Windows have is the 64bit "inside". I understand (correct me if Im wrong) that PowerPC has been 64bit since the G4's or at least the G5's and OSX is 64bit ready. My question or concern is what is going to happen to that? Is Apple switching from 64bit to 32bit Yonah's or has intel made a 64bit Yonah just for apple.
that is the only factor from this whole "switch" to intel thing that has had me worried. What do you guys think or know of this?
1. You can work on Microsoft SQL from a Mac. You can either use MS Remote Desktop for mac and work on the SQL server you have to work on... or run the SQL Runtime on a Virtual PC on your mac.
for games, buy and Xbox360... and you are set. Although if you are a fan of World of Warcraft, and other games are already playable on the mac.
The launch titles left a lot to be desired in some games.. I got PG3, NFSMW, PDZ, Q4. My GF got NFSMW, RR6 and COD2... Call of Duty 2 is sweet. We have also found ourselves wrapped up in the arcade games which some of them are plain addictive like Geometry Wars and Mutant Storm. The game I want is Oblivion. Cant wait till its out.

what does this have to do with News for Nerds... and how does this matter? I think this is an all time low for /.
I got an xbox360 with a 60" Sony HDTV to see that shinyness :)
its the news that matters, that kills it.. what does an article of 3dmark matter?

Who needs WMP for Mac when we got VLC, which is also free and works..
