I've never understood this. Why is it fine for someone to be a bad driver, hit and kill someone, no prob. However, if you are a drunk driver or a distracted driver you are in super big trouble now! Seems like we are rewarding bad drivers.

Container ships from china are so efficient the carbon footprint of shipping a container is about the same as a typical long-haul truck traveling halfway across the country. Items like this are generally contracted out to a factory for a certain size run, or a certain rate of manufacture. You might need to find a whole new manufacturer to get more of them, and it takes a lot of time. You may end up paying a lot for a new run and demand dries up leaving you out lots of money.

Most developed countries have declining populations projected for the indefinite future. The US is way below replacement rate, only growth is from immigration. Your facts are dated and out of touch with reality.

That's simply not true. There are 2 problems with your claim. Republicans don't give more than Democrats, and the bulk of "charity" is tithes to churches. Most of that money just pays for church buildings/salaries etc. Nobody thinks that making the Vatican a bit more gaudy or buying a megachurch pastor another yacht is helping the poor.
