The thing about males pretending to be females was true in the past (The IRC days) but now-a-days it's much harder to lie about your gender because:

    1. The increased awareness
    2. The availability of faster Internet connections + webcams.

I did meet quite a lot of people online and many of them became real life friends and even closer than that, majority of which are girls.
While I'm not suggesting that it makes the linked article true OR false but incidents of male pretending to be girls are very far and few.

I agree with the complex software part. The tiny bit of problem is the Microsoft is charging quite a bit of money for the honor of being a beta tester.

On a completely different note, I've vista installed on one of my PC and the explorer crashes quite often for a 499$ OS.

My colleagues and friend ask me all the time if they should get vista and I tell them to not waste their time. Even one of my friend bought a laptop with vista preinstalled and he had to revert to XP right after because explorer crashed so often that made the working impossible.

Is it just me or the quality of Microsoft Products is going down?

    Well said.

Govt is a regulatory authority whereas business is the one which needs to be regulated (essentially to keep them honest and beneficial to the public). By running the Govt like a business, you are getting rid of the regulation since you are the one who is regulating yourself.

Also one of the main reason that businesses function so well is because they are faced with competition. Govt one the other hand have no running competition (I count opposition as a critique rather then a competition).
