I've seen it mostly mean a small group who makes a huge amount of noise to bully decisions into there desired direction. The biggest problem I've seen with the group is this crazy fixation of roundabouts. Typically in locations where the size of said roundabout smaller can causes issues for truckers and fire engins. Heck a few of them even had the police having accidents in them in the first week they opened.
These "secret" accounts are often using gmail, hotmail, yahoo, ect. They are often free accounts and in violation of laws are having government business discussed over them. If you remember Governor Palin was caught by a hacker who broke into her account and exposed that she was bypassing the legal requirement for a paper trail that the states IT group was obligated to provide when ordered.
The big issue is when you take a goverment job everything you do that pertains to that job must be within the government email system. That includes invites from colleges who were once just your friend as well as communications with any and all potential lobbyists. Its similar to the idea that all police officers should expect and accept to be recorded while they are on duty.
Those often run into problems. Often when using those I have had to fiddle with settings. Some software has limitations as to which port the device needs to be plugged into. Yes you can reroute but thats part of the fiddling. Getting a stack of old laptops with rs232 ports has always been the most reliable way I have found. Sadly ensuring you have enough to last the life of the device your communicating with can be an issue.
Yes but you know the pro's and cons of being sexually assaulted. Cant say the same for the machines that they wont run proper tests on and wont take public comment on even after court orders. Also it can be fun to make the guy patting you down mildly uncomfortable.
Good odds that it is a squatter. However not all domains are used in public manners. I pointing out that there were possibilities outside of what GP was thinking. Commenters here have gotten stuck inside a box.
Please look up the definition of bias. Your using it wrong. What we have made is assumptions based on the knowledge that a users id length is relevant to the order in which users joined the site. If memory serves correctly with a very limited set of exception involving a hand full of 4 and 5 digit id's that were auctioned off some years back.
A bias comment would be stating that all Anonymous Cowards are trolls when in fact many are people who for one reason or another dont feel like creating an account or signing into there account.
I have had domains for private services such as databases(accepts request only from a list of IP's), file servers, and messaging services. I also use them for dynamic addresses.
My general rule of thumb as far as user id's: If your id is higher then mine I will give you toss it up to the member being young and ignorant about a topic when they overlook something simple. If there id is lower then mine they should be at least my age, and have a decent background on technology and its history as they lived it.
This was exactly my thinking. I avoid making assumptions in most cases. A 5 digit/. id would make the member around 30 or older with more exposure to/. content than myself.
just because port the base domain or port 80 goes to a parked page does not mean the domain is not in use. Before claiming that someone is not using the domain please at least check the DNS and MX records. Your ID is low enough where you should know web pages are no the only use for a domain.
Metro apps can only be installed from the store last i checked. They have made it inconvenient for non savvy users to use anything but metro and they get very confused and upset when using metro because they have a hard enough time setting the time on a vcr.
Holding? Why would they put it in the cup when they can put it in the drink and track you for a period of time after the bar as weel. Extra add on to the app for an additional fee. Know who went home with who last night.
Technically incorrect. If what you said is true then anything you placed inside a bank locker would be subject to the same searches. The manner you pay a company for services matters not.
People so readily try to throw out amendments because technology has changed when in reality an email would fall under the class of papers because papers are documents emails are electronic documents and your computer or cloud service is the filing cabinet or vault you store them in.
That being said, I do not like the services people describe as the cloud as its just a new marketing term to cover a type of service that has existed for years without any legal confusion until it became wide spread for consumers and took on the name cloud.
I wouldn't have much of an issue with having to compete when the available number went from 600,000 to 8,000,000. That provides 7,400,000 new potential sales and IT staff that are more friendly to BlackBerry due to the management ability they have over them compared to Android and iPhone devices without third party software. You dont actually think each user gets to pick which device they are going to use do you?
Its also possible to argue that the two posts are very related in regards to wanting to keep gun rights in our contry and not wanting the US spending resources to support other countries. Sounds like some one from a group like the tea party. The term terrorist for the Syrian rebellion is most likely intended to shame the US gov. As we all know one mans terrorist is another mans patriot. The choice of term patriot, rebel, terrorist, etc is a psychological game.
Maybe because Kansas City is being installed as fast as they want and they figure they can have teams in different locations going at max safe speed for install without conflicts. It could also be due to what the cable/media companies are doing with Caps and Cable subscription requirements to access content on hulu which goes inverse to the point of hulu. How best to shake things up then to have multiple sites being implemented forcing companies to upgrade networks or risk a google takeover of all customers.
For those of us who are currently looking would you care to share where these positions are posted?
The big issue I've noticed is that getting past HR is impossible because they are looking for key words to filter based on. You could literally replace them with a computer and get better results. The person filtering needs to understand that if you have one year in Java and 6 years with C++ and another 3 with C# that you are have significantly more value then the two or three years of java that they are looking for.
I know a CEO like this. He had to have a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air and now he wants all the sales people to have iPad's because nothing else is acceptable except the device with the most elit image even if it is significantly harder to manage and for the users to operate for there tasks.
I think you will end up seeing more tablets with the power of a pc. I'm talking units like Asus' eee slate 121. We are moving some of our sales reps to these as they provide a full computer while also allowing for more sleek presentations. Im personally waiting on the second gen as it will have an i5 v2 in it verses the current which is i5 v1
its a lot simpler and cheaper to continue on the pc platform then to throw out your existing code base, migrate all of your reports and provide training to your staff who are lucky as it is when they turn any electronic device on.
my company evaluated all of the tablet solutions and we realized to our dismay that a windows7 pro tablet allows better security control, easier document syncing, no extra cost compared to our existing system, does not require the user to have a second device just to install os updates, allows for remote support, doesnt require a user to register an account that we would then have to manage because you know they will forget the password and the device pin if your able to find a way to force the pin.
The only thing we found that the ipad had over say the asus is battery life and about.5lbs
Apple devices are great consumer devices. In fact I am using one right now to type this. Apple does not belong in corporate America. Nor do they really care about the market. They more then love the profit margins they have with consumers.
Im running the same version and the page up/down go about 2 lines too far. This wouldnt be an issue except those lines are only being hidden due to the floating title bar.
well you could have an alarm clock like mine that randomly started passing time at a much faster pace so that at 1am your 8am alarm is blasting. That's when I started relying primary on my phone over a normal alarm clock.
The issue mostly comes up however when attendance is mandatory. I had many classes that I didn't need to read the materiel or listen to the instructor to receive an A or B in however the institute had a strict policy that students must be dropped from the class if they miss more then 10% of classes.
In those classes i always made sure to sit in the back so as to not distract others.
Some instructors are just dreadful however and your stuck taking a class with them as its a requirement and they are the only one who teaches it. In these cases id find groups using what ever i was doing as a distraction.
The summery says they manage 1000 computers not that all the computers they manage need to be replaced. Most companies such as my own have a maximum age for PCs in there facility. We try to go with about a 4-5 year replacement cycle. If we followed this method strictly it would mean every year we would replace about 30-40 PC's. I would thus guess they only need to 200 or so PC's a year. at 1000 computers there IT staff should have at least 3 people who could squeeze in assembling machines during normal work hours as squeezing things in is what the job requires. It would just add about 33 hours work for assembling and with a proper lan imaging installer hardly any time for that portion.
The real catch here is that a $500-1000 PC from dell that normally includes the support contract at least for businesses tends to run close to the cost of building your own. Once you get into the 2k-4k range non servers you tend to see build it yourself machines being more cost effective.

Also allows you to make the TSA agent feel uncomfortable. But you must be very careful how you do this as TSA agents have unchecked powers.

if its taken two weeks for someone to submit this then the only person you have to blame is yourself seeing as you knew about it two weeks ago.
