Well, they _did_ get away with it. The funny this is that RHEL likely doesn't include XGL at all, it's very likely that they use AIGLX instead, but it's not worth it for me to check. As much as they would be doing it because they originated AIGLX, it's also a better solution than XGL.
I'm officially feeding a troll here, but in response, if the IT department were doing their job, he wouldn't have anything to worry about, because they'd be making more sensible decisions than this. They aren't, hence his complaint. There's also no sense waiting, since he can make a difference on "shit such as this" right now, rather than later.

I predict that eventually Wine will provide an alternate upgrade path to DX10 for people who don't want Vista. I could be wrong, but I really like the idea of being right. To be clear, I'm talking about people upgrading from XP to Linux, not running Wine in Cygwin on XP.
more editors than readers. I don't understand how that statement could possibly be interpreted to suggest that Dell's going to start shipping preinstalled Linux OSs, it says nothing of the sort. It looks to me more that they're trying placate everyone by saying they're doing everything they can, as opposed to actually responding to consumer requests. In other words, this headline is blatantly false.
Go to TH, and then go to that link URL again. They check the referrer to prevent people from deep linking to the printable page. That should be the first thing you try whenever similarly weird link breakage occurs.
It looks like neither of those events can be called global warming in any sense, because as one hemisphere of the world warmed or cooled, the opposite hemisphere experienced a change in the opposite direction. If you're going to try to argue this seriously, get your facts straight, otherwise we're both wasting our time. This is why I prefer not to do research - I'm supposed to be studying, and it's not worth it to reinvent the wheel. Somewhere, someone is building their career off of an argument for or against global warming, and they're going to get their facts more straight than I can with 10 minutes of my time. I'd prefer to just sit back and let them do the arguing, cause I have other things to do. They aren't necessarily better things to do, I just choose not to dedicate my time to writing papers about global warming.
I find their conclusions to be very compelling. It seems this case is closed, and we should all celebrate by buying lots of oil, followed by some time at Monday mass, since it has been clearly established, through scientific experimentation and deduction, that the earth was created by a higher power.
No, not really. I don't recall this global warming incident happening to previous human civilizations.. oh wait, that's right, we're the first. And so far you haven't actually presented models as an argument to suggest that the earth's magnetic field should be currently unstable, so the "Man is driving climate change" argument probably has you there. Call me a hypocrite, but I'm too lazy to gather evidence.
Yeah, but the parent didn't bother to articulate the argument instead of throwing around vague FUD. Now I have an opportunity to retort: you've given no evidence that our magnetic field is currently unstable.
Yeah, the Greenphone isn't what you're looking for, it's mainly an SDK designed to help Qtopia proliferate. The Neo1973 IS what you're looking for, but they aren't going to start selling it through regular retail channels until this September, as of the last announcement. If you really, really want one, you should be able to get it direct from them on 11 March, if they don't change plans, but again, intended only for devs.
Sounds like FUD to me, especially, like the first reply says, in an educational environment. Even more so if I think about what the computers on my local elementary school run.
I don't blame you for mincing words, but OpenMoko is an alternative software stack for mobile phones, similar to this one. You meant to mention the Neo1973, which is the phone that OpenMoko's initially going to run on.
This is perfectly normal, everyone in my neighborhood does it. I've even got an extra igloo behind my main one, dedicated to storing all the pirated VHS tapes I've amassed over the years..
You're the one who's grasping at straws here (for an example of needless MS bashing), not him. Did you miss the fact that Lawrence Lessig was part of the group of regulators that decided what to do about Microsoft's monopoly abuse? This wasn't needless MS bashing, it was a comparison between that regulation situation and the current regulation issue with broadband telecoms.
Google doesn't engage in the illegal activities that MS does, such as discounts for only offering windows on machines. Also, google doesn't bundle their services or products with any desktop operating system.
I'm referring to the Nokia 770, which comes with Google Talk, a search applet with Google as the default search. Technically, even the above is incorrect, if you fire up Ubuntu for example, the default search in the default browser is Google right out of the box. However, Google bundling their products with an OS is irrelevant, because they don't have an OS monopoly. What matters is what they bundle with their search engine. However, it's harder to call Google's position a monopoly, because the switching cost for users is so low (maybe not, if you consider how resistant some people are to change).
An overnight battery charger != a one hour charger with a conditioning cycle. The OP was looking for recommendations, not for the cheapest thing he can get. (That said, I have no idea if the recommendations are well founded or not)
Yes, yes they can.

RTFS - it's not about bandwidth, it's about unique data, knowledge, ideas, information.

I'd agree, but Dell didn't need the phone call, the headline from the last article was totally false to begin with.

Congratulations, you've single-handedly destroyed the entire case for global warming with that argument; utterly amazing!
One of my university profs does neural network research with FPGAs, perhaps that qualifies.

His point exactly - Zelda isn't a Nintendo exclusive for technical reasons, obviously..

Where did you get the idea that there's a gasoline powertrain from?
The article and summary both clearly say that the fuel cell charges the battery, and not the other way round.
Found an error there:

I think you might have missed that the parent was joking..
