I found movies and anime much more up to the task of getting my story fix. I, like you, played mainly for the story. Got bored with trying to attain the stupid goals. Just wanted more story.
Besides, the stories in anime and movies (those rated well by your favorite critics) put game stories to shame when considering the gameplay involved.
Well he says to obey the government, and if it our right and duty per the Declaration of Independence (which was sufficiently related to the inception of our country to more or less call it a law, in my opinion), to abolish the government which becomes contrary to our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness; then the wrong thing to do would be to NOT stand up to do something about it.
I also look at it from another POV, that we have been so blessed to have a free country, part of being blessed with something is BEING A GOOD STEWARD OF THAT BLESSING. IE, you manage your money wisely, well you should manage the blessing of freedom wisely too, and protect it from burglars just like you would protect your money or your wife or anything else in your possession that is rightfully yours.
Our rights are our rightfully ours, so be a good steward of them and protect them.
I think what you touched on is one of the interesting moments where we see the benefit of a monarchy/dictator over a democracy. If you are ruled by a reasonable, moral king, then you never have problems with this sort of thing. He takes one look at the case and laughs the complaint over anonytrolling out of his court. Further, he locks them up for a month to give them time to think about the silliness of what they were requesting.
The judge, OTOH, is required to follow the law, which can be bent and twisted any number of ways. Chaos ensues, as everyone who can possibly get money from anyone, sues that person; and then they and the lawyers win etc.
Personally, I've never used my display on my MacBookPro. The UI on OSX is so wonderful, that I do not even have to look at it. I practically imagine what I want to open, and it opens it for me! This coupled with the nice sounds, let me know when I've opened the right application. If worst comes to worst, I can just use the option key combos to start my music, to start web-browsing etc.
I've never used it, so to be honest, I don't see why anyone would want such a feature, let a lone need it.
When all you teach in schools is survival of the fittest, should we be surprised when they come out with me-first attitudes? You can argue all you want to say murdering is bad, and invoke arguments like "having a non-violent society is paramount to the survival of the species on the whole", but you cannot make an argument more convincing than "most people agree this is bad, and most people agree survival of our species is good, therefore murder is bad". IE, there's no irrefutable evidence with which you can clearly show the murderer to be wrong. Like why the survival of the species is even good in the first place. The murderer could argue that our survival is bad for the environment, and so he is simply seeking to save the environment from ourselves.
All you have is arbitrary opinion from various sources, the enforcement of which comes from those sources in the majority, with the most power. As in, "Might makes Right".
No, because then GE wouldn't have bothered creating their new diesel locomotives. The motors run at peak efficiency all the time, driving a generator; electricity powers electric motors for the wheels and bam you don't lose nearly as much to EM radiation as you do to the transmission.
Why can't they just use some DSP algorithms for this? We've got quad core processors that can be had for $200, or Sony PS3s would be fitted for the job as well.
It started as a bet. Hemos bet I couldn't fit a softball up my asshole.
Robin 'Roblimo' Miller.
I think some should do a psychological study on what drives trollers on the internet. What in their past instigates their fetish? for a). Frist psoting b). polluting the internets with the kind of foulness even sewage tanks are ashamed of harboring c). specifically, is it something about Slashdot? d). Or just the nature of free anonymity in general?
I'm not joking, I bet one could get a PhD with a thesis on one of the above.
That benefit isn't as great as the benefit of OSS I think... But consider what could happen if all the software for a voting machine were out in the open. Doubtless there would be those who might find a bug, and keep it to themselves in the hopes of using it to elect who they want. I'm not saying the current situation is better, because I think it's worse, but if the voting software were OS'd we might just be out of the frying pan and into the fire.
IANAP so maybe someone else can offer a technical solution for how to let the code be OS'd, yet keep it from being readily exploitable if a bug is found. Think of the money you could make betting on your presidential candidate...
Although, beer urine is mostly water. I imagine they might want more potent urine, like the stuff you have right when you wake up that stinks up the whole bathroom.
No way. Apple will charge you $1k for their lowest end laptop with 1GB of RAM and perhaps 160GB HDD space. You can get that from Dell/HP for $700, except the Dell/HP one you buy that you see in your local newspaper ads for Office Max will have 3GB of RAM and a 250GB harddrive, and will still have a dual core processor.
I believe the benefit would be in having the title selection of the mail-order Netflix, but all on the internet. Because there would be P2P and they would have to maintain fewer servers to stream content, Netflix could afford to sell the service for a lower price. Currently Netflix on Demand doesn't have many titles, let alone newer releases worth watching.
Love how the mod gave that a funny. Exactly what is funny about it?
Didn't bother taking the time to refute the problems presented with requiring possibly less capable women to be hired, over more capable men. Didn't refute the existence of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and their effect in saturating the market with buyers, buyers who should not financially be approved (but because of the political interest of increasing home ownership in minorities, were required to fill a quota), and how this saturation lead to the 70% increase in home prices between 2000 and 2007. Didn't refute the problems of inflation brought on by excessively low interest rates; the stagnating effect this has on the economy.

I don't get it.
Buy $600 phone.
Pay $60-90/month to use it.
And you can't tether.
That's what I'd be the most interested in anyways. WOW on the go would be fun.
This way they can get rid of you if they don't like you. That's kinda the point.

Oh dear I had a feeling someone would catch me on that one :p
On top of that, the fact that he was a Frenchmen is beside the point. He chose to live in America, end of story.
Boiling pot.
Comments weren't showing up, thought there was a problem. Sorry for double post.
I'd recommend moving forward and to the right. Let us know how it works out.
Allergy to high-velocity injections of lead is actually quite common, but the condition is often diagnosed when it's already too late.
Also, try moving forward and to the right. Might work better.

I disagree. I think it looks cool.
See?

I find beer works better :)
Free beer for all employees!!!
Probably the people who buy it.
Linux will support it of course. Offload video decompression (XVID/MPEG4/whatever) and audio decompression to the PPEs.
I'm sure Audacity and any other audio processing tools will support it. The GIMP could make use of it as well. Matlab of course.
Those are just off the top of my head.

Instead, he just modded it "Funny".
I hope someone metamoderates that "Unfair".
Is there any market "Need" for this, to be able to play your games better, or is this simply filling the "uber-leet-most-money-I-can-spend" market?
I have this gripping fear YOU made that on a new account and uploaded that yourself.
It's ok. It's not your fault.
