There's a lot of dead Americans that will never come back from Iraq and he's never been able to tell us why apart from his dance on the deck of a carrier in a clown suit.
It was for one of two reasons.
One, because we thought they had WMD. I find this ridiculous, and if this is truly the cause then they were incompetent boobs.
Two, because they wanted a battleground. They pulled all our enemies into Iraq and they've been focused there instead of making (more) terrorist attacks on civilians. It hasn't stopped terror attacks, but one could argue that it's slowed them. In this case, WMD was the flimsy excuse, and it's possible killing Saddam was a nice icing on the cake.
Like we care. Are you from an EU member state? I'll be eating popcorn watching the EU crumble and watching you fuckers riot at every tiny entitlement you lose over the next few decades. We'll see who's smug when the few sane EU member states decide they're crazy to continue supporting the outrageous, unsustainable spending of the rest.
"Ooooh, Sacre Bleu! They have raised zee retirement age 6 months and replaced welfare checks with zee housing and food cards! We must all riot!".
Illegal war? I'm no Dubya fan, though I am softening a bit on him in hindsight. But what exactly do you think the phrase "illegal war" means? You do understand that using that phrase marks you as a complete dolt, right?
Dingbats aren't competent to run the House of Representatives.
Rubbish. All it takes to run the House is the right political connections. I suppose if that dimwit Palin runs for office (and God forbid wins) you'll say she's not a dingbat because Dingbats aren't competent to be President, right?
Pelosi is a moron, and Obama is a junior senator slash community organizer that idiots like you voted into office because it made you feel good about yourself. Let's face simple facts, at least.
Your point is asinine. This patent protects the specific implementation Microsoft describes. If it doesn't work, the patent affords them no protection. If it does, I doubt it's random chance that they happen to describe a working implementation (with details about how it will work) in their patent.
"Why, somebody oughta..." is something a stoned guy eating a bag of Cheetos mentions to his buddy. A patent application with implementation details is not the same thing.
You're all the ones that want Net Neutrality. Do you think they'll just come in and impartially keep everything on a level playing field and leave everything else alone? Fucking please.
Wow, you don't say? Someone who's never used Windows 7 and thinks it takes more time to install Nero (why?) on Windows 7 has biases against Windows and Windows mobile 7?
Color me shocked. Might I also venture a guess that you have poor social skills, personal hygiene, and have an irregular, poorly shaved, patch beard growing its way down your neck?
Yeah, this site is a joke on anything computing related. It's a combination of willful ignorance and laughable partisanship. I hang around mostly to mock the neckbeards, myself, but there are occasional good articles outside the circle of jerking computing.
I used to post stuff like this anonymously for karma but I stopped giving a shit about what most of these clueless dweebs think some time back.
My personal theory is that if I post as myself and some angry dweeb can mod me down with his +1 Modding Wand of Bearded Necking and cackle that he "got me", I may be preventing him from putting on his "~> kill -1 $YOU" T-shirt, grabbing his semi-automatic AK rifle, and going on a killing rampage.
This nails it in a nutshell. It's a transparent attempt at FUD. We've been hearing from some people how much of a failure Windows Phone 7 was since 5 minutes after it was released. "Uh oh, after 5 minutes of being released Windows 7 phone has only sold X units, it's doomed!!!!".
Seriously? Everybody thinks they're so god damned Machiavellian. By posting these articles and having swarms of anti-MS nerds come gloat over the "failure" of Windows 7, do these clever FUDsters think they're going to dissuade people from buying them? It's all just so trite and boring.
I'm an Android fan right now but I hope Windows 7 does well and when they have a phone on Sprint I might get one. WMP7 is a young platform (WinCE underpinnings notwithstanding) and is missing some features from more mature OS's like iPhone and Android. However, Microsoft is good at one thing - courting (chant with me) "Developers, Developers, Developers". Their tools for developing on WMP7 are already, out of the gate, light years ahead of what Android or iPhone have.
Well, he was saying Intel doesn't have a "3D chipset they can integrate onto the processor die" when in fact they have already done so. And if we're talking about released products, where's Fusion?
And actually their IGP is reasonable these days, even pre-SB. It's not fit for high res gaming, of course, but it's suitable for a majority of non-gaming needs.
I don't think SB will have OpenCL support, from my limited understanding Intel's GPU solution is less flexible than ATI/NVidia's.
Just like in the Hans Reiser case, no nerd will ever be willing to believe Assange can do any wrong. Reiser was so ridiculously, obviously guilty but you had people about how they were such smart people they knew there wasn't enough evidence when in fact there was enough evidence to convict him if only 1/3 of it was presented.
He's in a pretty sweet position - he could go on a rape and murder rampage and get caught on camera, with 10 live witnesses, and then blame "the man" for trying to set him up and some of the more clueless among us nerds will believe it.
Note I'm not saying he's guilty - just that nerds love conspiracy theories. As others have said, Sweden has a strange definition of "rape", so who knows if he did anything even remotely wrong.
Android's a good idea because it's a mobile phone _platform_ based on a Linux kernel.
Meego is a bad idea because it's basically "let's run Linux on a phone!". You're going to get all kinds of shitty looking apps using different conventions. Qt gives you just too many ways to develop your app. That's why all the successful phone implementations are moving towards a platform where you can't just willy nilly throw shit up on the screen - you have layout constraints and don't just develop the app the way you would on a 800x480 screen on a desktop - it's a different world.
That said - I'd be down for one, but I'm a nerd. Most people are just going to see the complete lack of polish (which Meego will always have) compared to iPhone and even Android, whose polish is improving steadily.
What's the rule here? Anything delivered via port 80? Anything that uses HTML? Anything anyone can download over the Internet? I don't understand how they can apply this. Sure, there are fairly obvious cases but if I'm sending you flash content that can be run in your browser or standalone, do my standalone apps have to be compliant? Silverlight? What about a Java application that can also run as an applet? This is going to be yet another "I know it when I see it" law that will be misapplied and used to file frivolous lawsuits on a daily basis.
Oh come on. You're going to make me waste valuable wrist and finger energy to post that Standard Oil and US Steel were absolutely nothing like Google, and that you can get the same god damn information from Bing, Yahoo, or other places? Google has a stranglehold on nothing.
How hard would it be to go a week without Google? Or, to up the ante, without Facebook, Amazon, Skype, Twitter, Apple, eBay and Google?
Pretty fucking easy, actually. My God what are we becoming when people think this shit is so important?
Back in my day (well, ok, my grandfather's) we worried about important shit like steel, or oil. Hell, even telephone wire - it's physical, someone owns it, and they control it completely. Those are monopolies - you're strangled by one provider.
Facebook? Apple? Amazon? Give me a fucking break. Oh noesies, I can't go read about something cute one of some guy I barely know's brat kids did! Oh no, I have to buy a less expensive version that functions just as well of some gadget I don't need! Uh oh, I have to walk my fat ass to Target or order from one of the other billion internet stores!
Author makes common mistake of confusing a monopoly with most successful provider of something that one could, if one wanted, get from 20 other places.
Exactly. If you've already sunk the costs into Exchange, it's very difficult to think of many good reasons to go to Gmail. Frankly, for desktops, the same holds for Windows 7.
I don't know all the details but if this is just your personal love of OSS then I would recommend you put your feelings aside and make decisions as a professional and not as a fanboy.
Haha, you got modded troll for posting something completely reasonable. Fortunately nobody with any sense gives a fuck what most of these neckbeard SlashDweebs think.
Lol. Riiiight. I'd be shocked if Microsoft's "fanboi base" was 1/100 the size of Apple's or Android's. I'd be mildly surprised if it was 1/1000th.
I dig Microsoft's development tools, so I'm certainly a fan there but I'm taking a wait and see attitude towards Win7 mobile.
See, most Microsoft fans are professionals. Most Apple fans are hipster douches, and those far outnumber professionals. I do dig Android though, that's my current phone.
Ahh, you're confusing hype with advertising. How cute.
Hype is an adoring legion of hipster douches who will camp out in front of your store to buy whatever shit you're shoveling them this quarter that does what the product they bought from you 2 quarters ago should have done anyway.
doesn't even support encrypted Exchange connections
Please. Of course it does.
I should leave it at that but I'm too lazy to wait for you to post "nuh uh" with a link to an article describing how it doesn't have device encryption, and then point out that device encryption and an "encrypted connection" are not the same thing.
There's a lot of dead Americans that will never come back from Iraq and he's never been able to tell us why apart from his dance on the deck of a carrier in a clown suit.

We all think you're nuts.
Like we care. Are you from an EU member state? I'll be eating popcorn watching the EU crumble and watching you fuckers riot at every tiny entitlement you lose over the next few decades. For a first time Win 7 "user"
Yes. Completely remove anyone who has been on the site for less that 5 years or more than 10 years.
Yeah, this site is a joke on anything computing related. It's a combination of willful ignorance and laughable partisanship. I hang around mostly to mock the neckbeards, myself, but there are occasional good articles outside the circle of jerking computing.

A poor attempt, really.
This nails it in a nutshell. It's a transparent attempt at FUD. We've been hearing from some people how much of a failure Windows Phone 7 was since 5 minutes after it was released. "Uh oh, after 5 minutes of being released Windows 7 phone has only sold X units, it's doomed!!!!".

huh?
Double huh?
It's rare to read someone post something both factually and subjectively wrong at the same time in so few words. Congratulations.
Just like in the Hans Reiser case, no nerd will ever be willing to believe Assange can do any wrong. No, he doesn't but I think the point is that gosh darn it he hates profiling!

How hard would it be to go a week without Google? Or, to up the ante, without Facebook, Amazon, Skype, Twitter, Apple, eBay and Google?

God damn it's hilarious when some jackhole declares a product a failure after a week or two. Moron.
