Looking for a quick ride and looking for a Limo are not the same thing. These are not actual competing businesses.
Not every limo is a stretch limo driving partying teenagers to their prom. Some are simply nice cars taking you from the airport to your hotel, for which Uber would be considered competition.
Congress has been purposefully left out of the executive order drafting process, the official said, because the administration wants to preempt legislation being considered in the House and Senate that addresses similar issues.
and
Congress passed a Russia sanctions bill more than a year ago. Some lawmakers - including some Republicans as well as Democrats - have chafed at what they saw as the administration’s reluctance to implement it. Trump signed the bill only after Congress passed it with huge majorities.
The lack of toilet facilities for the homeless cannot be blamed on reusing plastic bags. anyway
About 1,400 people visit the emergency room every year due to injuries from drinking straws. The majority of incidents involve young children and lacerations to the mouth, abrasions to the cornea, or insertions into the ear and nose. A common scenario involves a child falling with a straw or poking a sibling.
Although similar injuries occur with adults, the more typical instances are poking an eye or nose when drinking from the rim of a glass and forgetting about the straw in the drink, when out at a restaurant or bar.
Silver and brass/bronze/copper will kill bacteria, as I recall.
Yes, but they may not be good for your health, either. For example, brass and bronze will contain lead unless specifically specified as "lead free", and "lead free" will still have up to 0.25% lead on the wetted surface. And copper and silver may not be great for your health, depending on several factors, and are going to be alloyed with other metals that may or may not be worse.
One thing that's become crystal clear is that both parties are 100% owned by big-money corporations.
That's not true.
The Republicans are 25% owned by the anti-science religious nuts and the Democrats are 25% owned by the bleeding heart liberals, so they're at most 75% owned by big money corporations.
Not exactly 'good faith' anyway, but from the article you cited "proving" a liberal bias.:
Other former curators interviewed by Gizmodo denied consciously suppressing conservative news, and we were unable to determine if left-wing news topics or sources were similarly suppressed. The conservative curator described the omissions as a function of his colleagues’ judgements; there is no evidence that Facebook management mandated or was even aware of any political bias at work.
Sometimes, breaking news would be injected because it wasn’t attaining critical mass on Facebook quickly enough to be deemed “trending” by the algorithm. Former curators cited the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 and the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris as two instances in which non-trending stories were forced into the module. Facebook has struggled to compete with Twitter when it comes to delivering real-time news to users; the injection tool may have been designed to artificially correct for that deficiency in the network.
In other instances, curators would inject a story—even if it wasn’t being widely discussed on Facebook—because it was deemed important for making the network look like a place where people talked about hard news. “People stopped caring about Syria,” one former curator said. “[And] if it wasn’t trending on Facebook, it would make Facebook look bad.”
Several former curators said that as the trending news algorithm improved, there were fewer instances of stories being injected. They also said that the trending news process was constantly being changed, so there’s no way to know exactly how the module is run now.
On the other hand, I've been in a great number of meetings "wasting my time" listening to discussions on topics that do not need my participation, only to hear something that very definitely could affect my part of the project, but I was the only one who realized that.
People should understand that sometimes "wasting time" is actually a necessary part of the process. (This does not include truly unnecessary or poorly run meetings, of which I've seen my fair share, also.)
The entities funding the research are the ones requiring the published papers to be open. Has nothing to do with web sites, advertising, or profits, regardless of what the parent, GP, or GGP posts say.
Depends if you're talking about 10 year olds or 4 year olds. Young kids are great at imitating, and by doing so letting you find how just how much you swear without realizing it.
That's extremely disingenuous.
Cohen was not acting as Trump's lawyer in the subject matters.
Even if he were, the excuse of following your lawyer's advice might get you a more lenient sentence from a bleeding heart judge, but it won't make you not guilty.
No, actually. It's legal to use campaign contributions to kill a story, as long as it's not part of a conspiracy in furtherance of a crime. What is claimed in this case, is the money was used for campaign purposes, but it was not declared as a campaign contribution. Furthermore, it's alleged by the women that the women's previous lawyers were in cahoots with Cohen, the tabloid, and Trump's other "friends", and therefore the non-disclosure agreement was not valid - which is completely believable, given the known facts.
My boss notifies me by asking me whether I responded yet to the e-mail he forwarded 6 hours ago, which I never knew about because he sent it to my home e-mail instead of my work e-mail.
To be honest, it was your insurance company that eliminated your plan, not Obamacare.
IRRC, it passed with 2 Republican votes, actually.
Not to mention the epigenetics.

My first thought as well.
That is patently untrue.
Still, Amazon has too high of a P/E ratio for my tastes.
True.
So just use Earnings / Price, instead.
Bezels set off the screen from the real-world background, and therefore are useful for stand-alone monitors.

This is the most informative post I've read on this story, but no mod points today.

No, he wasn't acting as a lawyer while he was doing that. That's why almost all of his documents were not protected by attorney-client privilege.

Alan Dershowitz never met a defendant he didn't defend.
