  1. Re:Will Napster fight back? on Barenaked Ladies Battle Napster (But Not In Court) · · Score: 1

No one in their right mind would so someone for that kind of a reason. Napster is sitting on the fence right now between ok and illegal depending who you talk to.

It's in napsters best interest to keep their mouth shut. They could sue... but that would only result in a countersue by BNL and they would most likely end up losing lots more then they ever planned to get out of it.

Besides, I don't really think napster cares what kind of music is shared. That's the whole idea behind it. They pretend to ignore that people are download illegal songs, and therefore have no grounds to sue BNL because the songs they are posting are legal.

How can it be abuse to Napster?? To be that, then they would have to have a clause saying, you can only share complete versions of real songs. This would just open themselves up to more lawsuits by condoning the actions of it's users.

If not, then there is not much point in getting the new release. Perhaps they are just getting tired of writing long articles on what is new. Or is this release just coming out because Red Hat just release PinStripe just a few weeks ago? It makes you wonder if they are just following the crowd so it gives the impression that the software is "new".

I don't understand why Intel and AMD don't start to work on non x86 based processors. The pentium IIIs and athlons already have far too much code to keep them backwards compatible. As far as software goes, Microsoft has already abandoned DOS totally, so why keep the processor architecture to run DOS.

I think they should come up with a new design for a good 64 bit processor. Something that is RISC, but not worrying about x86.

Make Microsoft port all their code for a change to the new processor. They've had it easy. Linux can run on countless platforms and would be easily ported.

I don't know much about the mac version, but I can see people still use IE for the mac. For some reason IE for mac is much better then the windows version anyway (this could just be the API used). It would be hard for mozilla to compete

It sounds like X or VNC. The point is that even microsoft is trying to get more of the features of X in their 'new' technology

Since there is really no way to get microsoft to take these 'new' and 'better' features out...

This has already happend to mozilla with the "microsoft specific" DHTML. Why not continue on this trend by adding new code to deal with the extras in 5.5.
