Check out Traffic by Tom Vanderbilt. It's a pretty cool read on this.
The unnecessary braking caused by people not able to maintain constant speed will cause an accordion effect which creates those phantom traffic slowdowns and jams we've all been in.
Re: your early comment on needing to brake. That's the thing though, the best scenario does not have anyone braking because there is no need. Proper lane changes and zipper merging all make things run smoothly.
Holy crap; lightbulb! I've never thought of it that way. Strong restrictions always ticked me off but clearly they work opposite from their intentions.
"O" - A gaming OS "[O ]" - A box running the gaming OS? "O + O" - A gaming network?
What I don't understand is the spacing in the icons. If SteamOS is O and the second icon (supposedly SteamBox) is [O ], why is there an extra space? Why wouldn't they have just chosen [O] or [ O ] ? Seems odd to me (or I'm just over thinking and they have a different design aesthetic).
The iPod Shuffle IS a waste of money and a piece of crap. The Muvo is far superior/
1. The Muvo is much smaller than the shuffle.
2. The Muvo uses a regular battery, the ipod uses its proprietary battery. If you want to use consumer batteries, you need to buy their special "addon"
3. Muvo can get FM radio, iPod cannot
4. Muvo has a line in, iPod does not
5. You can record the radio onto the Muvo
6. You don't need to install iTunes
7. You can store other files on the Muvo (portable HD). I do not know whether or not the iPod can do this.
8. The Muvo has a screen, the iPod does not.
The last thing I owned without a screen was a cassette tape player. Back in '95.
I don't have a beef with the regular iPod (even though I will never own one). But the shuffle is quite frankly, a piece of junk.
You can get much better products for the same price.

So I SHOULDN'T have named my hamster Kerberos?
It runs parallel to Fake Street.
No kidding, the suckers are annoying enough!
What's next? Biologists create extra hard exoskeleton on mosquito? Biologists attach wings to brown recluse?
Voodoo2! That brings back memories...with the pass through cable you needed to hook up to your 2D card..
I would think that putting windows on a warship would seriously compromise the hull integrity...
Portholes maybe... but Windows?
Turn the screw until you hear a crack then back off a few turns...
But what happens when someone comes out with Five Second Teeth? Then you're in trouble...
Noooo NOT Five, I said SIX. No one's coming up with Five..Who brushes their teeth in five seconds?
It'll only steam, not vacuum.
The icons appear to be...
"O" - A gaming OS
"[O ]" - A box running the gaming OS?
"O + O" - A gaming network?

The day has come and we can now rejoice. It's Duke Nukem Forever!
Yeah but that would mean the entire crew would have to transfer their entire tape collection to CD.
