An American government full of neo-cons was elected, and further re-elected, by a majority of Americans. That, in itself, is damning enough of a majority of a people.
There is effectively a problem in the USA with the way the elections are conducted, that encourages the existence of only two parties. That is, there is no real choice.
Replace Europe with America in your post and re-read.
Do you get it ? American government and Europeans governments do almost the same (Europe being just about 10 years behind), people are just brain-washed into thinking that THEIR government won't misuse these informations while the other will.
About people being more respectful of individual differences : I think it's because you generalize from governments positions to people ideas. American government being full of neo-cons doesn't mean every American is (but I might be wrong, I never went to the USA;) )
That sorts of accidents are happening because someone disabled Clippy, else something like what follows would have happened:
It seems you are trying to print. Are you sure ? It seems you want to print a document lenghtier than 10 pages. Are you sure ? It seems you want to print more that five copies of it. Are you sure ? I'm going to print 4000 pages now. Is that OK ? Aren't you just keeping to click on the 'Yes' button ?

Only if you have 256 MB of memory or more. AFAIK, using "classic" skin instead of Luna doesn't free memory. XP uses 100 MB, so with 128 MB RAM you are a little short for other apps, and using swap decreases performance.
As a side note, there is one aspect where Luna is better than classic: the pixel in the corner where lies the start button can be used to fire that start menu.
When opening in new tabs, "target" part of a link is ignored, so it won't work.
But you need to consider that secunia test is just an example, a real-life malicious exploit will probably use javascript, probably bypassing that tab setting.
The problem lies in Mozilla naming frames globally and not one name set per tab.
If a site in one window has a frameset with "banner" "sidebar" and "main", another window can access that frameset. A link in that other window with attribute target="main" will replace the content of a frame in another window. That has nothing to do with being able to create a frameset with contents from heterogeneous locations.
anyone got any screenshots? i do'nt wanna have to download & install this pig just to see what it looks like. :(
You do know Microsoft doesn't like people publishing screenshots of patent-pending user interfaces, don't you ?
AFAIK, Corel Photo-Paint does already "bring together pixel-based painting and vector graphics features".
My favourite :
Question 4: Why announce this chip swap a year before it will even begin for customers?
Maybe to let developpers some time to port applications ?
The architect of the house couldn't be joined,
The foundations aren't ready yet,
The site is slashdotted already.

Just compare
France 2002 1st turn
US 2004 candidates and results
Almost a half of the population didn't vote for one of the three leaders on the first turn in France.
It doesn't happen in the US because it's just wasting your voice...
And it doesn't work since, huh, about 1876 if you look at it...
Why would I panic ?
I have my towel and a copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy next to me...

There are damage costs and damage costs sponsored by the bsa/mpaa/riaa.
In addition to anti-phishing and anti-spoofing features, IE 7.0 will add support for IDN
Huh ? Didn't we have a story not a long time ago about IDN being a target for phishing ?
Exactly.
But it's a lot easier to push statistics with random correlations (even if true) than really distinguish causes and effects.
At least we can recognize that it isn't an easy task.
Anybody is just a product of lots of interactions that are impossible to disentangle.
Then you will be able to contaminate multiple operating systems instances with a single instance of IE running on a single instance of Windows !
They can't seem to ever get their own operating system right how are they gonna emulate anyone else?
Who said they would ?
You will be able to run multiple instances of WinXP, Win2003 and Longhorn, that's what they mean by "multiple operating systems...

Allmost as annoying as Windows Really Good Edition...

You mistakenly used the bullet list instead of the numbered list, thus ruining the usual business joke
I concur.

Look at secunia test !
Interesting (somewhat edited) parts are
from secunia
<a href="(msdn)" target="_blank"> (opens a new window with msdn frameset in it)
from msdn frameset
[...]
<FRAME name="fraRightFrame" src="(enter_your_credit_card_number)">

from secunia
<a href="(thanks_for_your_card_number)" target="fraRightFrame">
as in, you'll get 6 or 7 web browsers
:
h any-browsern x
Huh ? A hell lot more than that !
From `apt-cache search web browser`
edbrowse
galeon
dillo
netrik
chimera2
epip
mozilla-browser
mozilla-firefox
ly
links2
konqueror
w3m
Maybe surfraw (can it be considered a web browser ?)
And I might have missed a few (links for example, that hasn't "web" in it's description)
News for the amnesiac. Stuff that mattered.

The bottom line is that console manufacturers often heavily subsidize their new machines,
Microsoft does / did that with the Xbox, but is it true for other manufacturers ?
aa / aaa- a / -aa --- -a a / aa - / / -aaa- / / a=.
I know I'm nitpicking but... Not exactly.
Intel and AMD are the main players for the desktop. Let's face it, there are far lesser PPC units produced.
But, there is a whole world of CPUs beyond the desktop. IIRC, most produced CPUs (in units) are for smartcards.
