I remember the first time I saw the first Star Wars movie. One of the biggest moment was when Tarkin threatened Leia to destroy Alderaan if she didn't reveal the rebel base location. Eveyone was holding their breath as Leia struggled to decide. I remember well the loud reaction of everyone when Tarkin still ordered the destruction of the planet.

But in The Force Awakens, when the Starkiller Base destroyed like half a dozen planet everyone was like "meh".

I was hoping for LinkedIn to fill that gap, but the job listing is way smaller than the others website. To be fair, I must admit that I've found my last job with the help of an head hunter I've met by LinkedIn, but still.

Glad to see Google entering this market and create a way to help people finding the best job avalaible for their profile. In a time where job that last a lifetime doesn't exist anymore, we will benefit greatly from this.

When all paths lead to victory there is numerical instability in the rollouts so a move that gives a 15 point win margin, might, by chance get say 99.995% chance of winning, but one of the billions of other paths that also lead to a win will, by chance - give a rollout of 99.996% chance of winning. So every move in a won game is essentially random and will tend to reduce the win margin against a skilled opponent (who will always make a move that decreases their loss margin) until the win margin is 1/2.

Well then, I do hope they will activate the "maximal win margin" for the next game. I would love to see what is the gap between the best human player and AlphaGo

Well, like Windows Operating system, MS has accustomed us to overhaul every two version so I thought the Surface Pro (5?) would have move changes. Sadly, it's simply a Surface Pro 3 v3 (and the Surface Pro 4 was the v2). Talking about this, scapping the numbering is dumb and now I will have a lot of trouble to find support for my "old" Surface Pro (the first). Well, not as dumb that Surface Pro One at least.

Better battery and CPU/GPU are to be expected, nothing amazing there.

New LTE support (only for latter model) are interesting, but data over LTE cost a little too much here to be useful (I something create a Wifi with my cellphone and and, after a quick web browsing while drinking my coffee, I had over 50mb used because of the habits of MS and it's program to automatically use the internet for anything.

Not including the pen anymore is a bad decision imho because it's the killer feature this product. If you're not using the pen, then buying this over another Ultrabook with similar spect at almost half the price doesn't make much sense. Also, the pen is too easy to lose (it took me about a year to lose mine) so I do think that MS should find a way to "dock" the pen on the tablet more firmly. The magnet that I saw on the Surface Pro 4 isn't enough. Oh yeah, and since the pen is quite pricey (50$-60$) + the keyboard at 130$, it's also a subtle way to make the Surface Pro a little more expensive that the labeled 799$. In reality, the real cost of the most basic Surface Pro (new) is really 1000$.

Still only one USB 3 port. MS seriously need to step down and add USB-C to their Surface product. Since it's pretty clear that the USB-C will become the new standard, I don't want my brand new Surface Pro to be obsolete in 2-3 years.

The i5 version is now fanless....well I don't particularly care about this and I usually prefer a laptop that blow hot air instead of a laptop that become hot itself.

Kudos to MS for calling them "Laptop" now. Compared to "real" tablet, the Surface Pro is doing a very bad job for, well, "tablet" uses. Hardware is good, but the Apps availability difference is just too big.

So, yeah, an "ok" upgrade but I'll kept my Surface Pro (the first) for now.

I can output the signal and the audio on a HD recorder and there's no protection that will protect you from that.

    Not exactly.
Nowadays, the output signal is *digital* (HDMI mostly with standalone players, and HDMI mostly with computers).
There's an encryption standard HDCP which is supposed to protect this data during its transit to the screen.

In theory, you should NOT be able to directly hook-up the output to a recorder, that recorder will only see an ecrypted stream that only the screen can decrypt.
You can only use a *cam* to record the actual screen as suggested above, not the stream itself.

In practice, HDCP is done poorly. Its current form is cracked and can be bypassed, so the only actual real-world is not stopping pirate, but only failing in weird ways for legitimate users.

And in actual practice : nobody gives a damn about the latest cookie-cutter soulless movie. Chances are high that I'll be too busy doing some interesting outdoor sport (or some indoor one) rather than trying to see how I could pirate a copy of Smurfs 2 (what, they even made a *second* one ?)

While I'm nnot so surprised to learn about this encryption method, I understant that an output of a TV would still be encrypted, but the case in my mind was my computer.

There's dozen "On Screen" recorder software. So if I can read BlueRay on my computer, what kept me from recording the screen?
