Tell your executives to use ALT-RIGHT SHIFT-DELETE - it does the same as a battery pull.
We are talking about executives here. Telling them Alt-Right Shift-Delete is what they need to do is actually way more difficult than saying "pop out the battery." Otherwise, we'll be getting 3 or 4 calls a day asking where the "control" is is so they can CTRL-ALT-DEL.
Still annoying but less than taking out a battery.
When I asked how often he has to pull the battery, he answered "Once a week or so."
Some of our executives are stuck doing this maneuver at least once per day. We're slowly rotating them into iPhones and Androids -- ActiveSync devices don't need no stinking BES Server.
I trashed my Palm Pre with gusto after tiring of how freaking slow it ran. New shiny hardware still can't keep up? Then the problem really is as bad as the reviews say.
Three strikes against Nintendo for things that turned out very poorly for the Wii. I should add $60-$80 per controller to the mix, but they've already struck out.
The Virtual Console was the selling point for the Wii for me, but where are the games? I read somewhere that Japanese gamers have access to a much wider library of games to purchase for their Virtual Console than US gamers like myself. Where's the love, Nintendo of America?
Every online-enabled game I have is so bad that I don't even want to use it. Give me a friend system and quit treating the Internet like it's too big and scary to operate.
The disappointment level for my Wii is pretty high. It's almost off the charts for my PS3. I have no interest in an XBOX or paying a monthly fee to use it. I think I'm just going to sit out on the next generation of video game consoles.
Who woulda thunk a Harvard student would have no problems keeping track of where apostrophes go. I can't imagine proper use of the English language was something that he only recently developed...
Sony just doesn't get it. They don't know how to do business online. The internet has been a pain in the side of their movie and record labels, so Sony neglects it as much as they can get away with and this is what happens.
>Think what that percentage would be if they supported Linux, too.
I don't know, for me it would not increase my Netflix traffic one bit. I use it in the living room with a video game console and never, ever on a computer.
I see a lot of posts from people who can't stand the idea of eating lunch with their co-workers. For me, I guess that's another sign that I've got it pretty good.. I like all of my co-workers and I love getting that one hour a day to socialize and BS with the people I enjoy working with.
RIM's Blackberry platform was years ahead of the game. Since then, Microsoft released ActiveSync which furthered their Exchange dominance and enabled email, calendar and contact syncing on just about every other phone platform available.
Meanwhile, RIM clings to their dying subscription-based revenue model and does nothing to address any of the stability concerns on their phones. We have C-level executives today using brand new Blackberries that lock up or fail to sync on a daily basis - and the best help our Email guys can offer is for them to remove the battery for a few seconds before powering the phone back on.
Seriously RIM, you have the most mature EMail-centric phone platform on the planet, but your phones are lagging behind the much younger competition in critical areas like stability. I guess that's why we're recommending Android or iPhone to all of our business users with phones up for replacement..
That's a completely possible situation as well..they are so clueless they couldn't find the vulnerability if they had to. Or maybe it's something else all together. Until we know more, it's pure speculation.
I think the fact Sony has left the PSN in a completely disabled state for the past week could hint at some internal problems with disaster recovery. Their servers have been compromised and can no longer be trusted. In my world, that's a perfect time to re-build your systems from a pristine backup. So why doesn't Sony patch the vulnerability and deploy new servers? Perhaps it's because they don't have any good backups to restore from..
This is invariable caused by a malfunctioning app. Stop putting crap on the phone and it works fine.
Stock phones attached to our BES Server and sometimes flashed with newer firmware. If there's crap on the phone, it's RIM's.
And you don't have to pop the battery out to reset - that just means you don't know how to use your phone.
It's not my phone. We're simply forwarding what RIM support has told us.

Probably not if you're a 60 year old CFO.
The crappy blue screen joke in the summary wasn't enough for ya?

He went from a 2-year plea bargain to an 18-year sentence? They raked him over the coals for not cooperating with the prosecution.

That's a pretty serious request around this side of the Internet.
Fixes my ability to view Slashdot articles.
17 down, tens to hundreds of thousands to go.
So Microsoft starts using standards compliant HTML5 instead of Silverlight on their sites and you bash them for it? Seriously?
The submitter must be one of many bitter developers who bought into Silverlight to begin with.
That's OK, I'll just switch to one of those other carriers providing unlimited wireless data.

The issue deserves concern, but 30,000 Android users seems like a very small number to me.
Has been a turd since the moment Obama took office.

Hackers stole everything Sony knows about their users, so it's no surprise that re-verifying accounts is going to be a painful process.

What kind of idiots implement token based authentication over unencrypted HTTP streams?
Probably. I don't run anti-virus, but considering the fact I have Flash Player installed, I probably should.
My mind will warp a little bit the first time I have to rebuild my linux box from an infection, but it's only a matter of time.

The official line in Washington D.C. is that there's a new Cold War brewing
Since when?
