Professor Koinuma is on the right track here. The Sun, being the most abundant source of renewable energy, is obviously the most efficient resource to power the world.
Educating people about computer scams seems to be the best way to combat this problem. Otherwise, we can just provide an IQ test as part of the Windows boot process.
I clicked on wikileaks site last night just to see if it worked. The main page worked but when you clicked on a link about the Diplomatic Cables, it re-directed me to a graphical chart page which had nothing to do with it.
I guess they were still moving data at that point.
'You can put your box inside a printer tray and glue it shut, and who will notice if there are one or two or three power cables coming out?'
I, for one, would certainly notice THAT. But who in the corporate world would notice or even care?
Also interesting is that the article links to an eWeek article that in turn links to a Slashdot article from 2007 about this same thing.
1) Release low-budget, badly-written & directed crappy movie to the public
2) Give it time to be distributed illegally on the internet
3) Find those who have supposedly shared it
4) Sue everybody, but count on only some people paying to settle out of court and collect fines
5) PROFIT!
The world is getting the government they deserve, it is a global economy run by a relative few individuals and there is nothing you can legally do about it.
I guess my point is that as our country continues to implode due to unabashed and unrestricted greed, no one even seems to care and no one is ever held accountable.
It seems that in the past, people were actually held accountable for ripping people off. Now, it is the new way of doing big business.
Greed is the driving force behind politics, the economic mess we are in, and now anti-consumer measures like the tiered-internet that companies like Comcast are proposing.
Does anyone else think that the relentless pursuit of money-at-all-costs mentality is greatly hindering science, freedom, innovation and technology?
Why is innovation and technology today all about video games, tablets and streaming movies? I know they are profitable, but very limited in terms of providing something NEW.
Aren't there other technologies and forms of entertainment we can spend our time and money on?
No, that would only lead to an economic meltdown.
The needs of the whole outweigh the needs of the individual lawyers, so they will LOSE

We could power the world using only a fraction of the Earth's surface area.
I really hope that this project succeeds, even if it is done on a smaller scale.

Isn't there some type of review process for all changes? Or can you just go in and change things willy-nilly?
Maybe they need some more code oversight, just my opinion.
Please report to the nearest thought police station for your thought crimes.
How DARE you question the motivations of a powerful Senator and corporations in general????

LOL 'democracy' and 'freedom' are an illusion
Prosecuting people for modding a video game console seems like a total waste of time, energy and resources.
Shouldn't we be focusing our attention on the Wall Street crooks who stole money through the home mortgage scandals?
Even if you already bought the BetaMax, VHS, DVD, HDDVD, BluRay media before?

Why should we listen to screeches of a quitter?
...just like every other aging technology that increases its workload and interoperability on a scale that was never originally intended.

It looks cool, but it seems like it will need to be cleaned almost daily from all the touching.
A touch-free interface seems like it will be the next generation interface.
Why stop at just 2? Up the ante and go to 16.
...see this being mysteriously stopped by unknown forces.
Hopefully, the motto of this new storage device will not be "I lost EVERYTHING!"

Who knew? I didn't think this generation's attention span lasted longer than 3 minutes.
Why can't we be as fast as South Korea?
What's the big hold up?
FEAR keeps them in control, FEAR is the new religion
