    It just seems to me that rather than attempting to help us users, the way that this bug was handled was just a huge PR stunt...

    Everybody, all chickens sold under the Tyson brand have been found to have been infected with athrax. Please DO NOT HANDLE THEM!!!

    Is that a PR stunt?

    That's what you get for listening to a salesmen. Do your homework before hand, and go in with a list of part numbers. Salesmen know the difference between those who want to spend money, and those who know exactly what they want. It's also fun to have this conversation:

    "Do you want an easy commision?"
    "*stares blankly* Of course."
    "I want a blah, blah, blah, part number 1234567"
    "*stares blankly* Sure no problem"

    Quick for the salesmen, no difficult questions to answer, you know that what you are getting will work perfectly, etc, etc. Everybody's happy. =)

    All cashiers (in america and montreal at least) will give you your cash in size order (20-10-5-1, etc).

    NOT true. Most places do handle money that way, but some places just wad it up and shove it into your hands. Those tend to be where tourists go, so I bet its easy to scam them that way. I'm not just talking about street vendors, I'm talking about brick and motor stores.

    no, no joke. my gf's phone even has a tip calculator. and it can split a check, as many ways as you want.

    me? i generally double tax, and round up the total to an even dollar amount. when tax is 8.5%, that's a nice tip for the waitress (they're almost always a girl)

    about $1000/month, depending on millage, and who you go through. There's no cap, because you're spending a cool grand a month on the line. (But you're still limited to 1.54m/sec both ways)

    no, bleeding edge for freebsd is -current. (aka 5.0-current). -stable is, well, stable. None of this Linux "oh-we'll-just-totatly-change-the-virtual-memory- system-in-the-stable-tree" crap.

    Then they would CRC checksum the bogus files, and claim they are verified. That does /nothing/ to stop it.
