    I ignore them until I want an interrupt, then I deal with them in the priority *I* give them. I do not acknowledge how important you think it is (or how important you think you are). If they come to my desk, I tell them "I'm in the middle of something, and will get to your email/call soon".

    I know for a fact they are not based above the SF Weekly office. The SF Weekly office is next door to mine, and I have a friend at Digg. We do not hang out for lunch, because he's a bit too far away.

    With such a simple fact wrong, I would not be suprised if more of it was incorrect.

    I support congress impeaching a president for lying. whether or not he should have had to testify about receiving a blow job is an entirely different subject.

    To be fair, Final Fantasy has had only one true sequal. X and X-2 was it. I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, XI, Tactics, Chronicles, etc are all independant of each other.

    also, they have made this great utility that allows you to connect to another (possibly more powerful) machine. its called 'ssh'.

    I treat all of those emails as a phishing attempt. If I think it has the possibility of being legit, I type in the appropriate web address (no, I don't cut-n-paste, I type in the previous login site), login and verify the contents.

    if you write sane code, it will work on everything. distribute source code and you don't have to worry about it.

    on the other hand, the lack of support for 32-bit binaries on the amd64, is intentional. it ain't gonna happen. it requires a massive amount of technical work, for a tiny benefit. if you can call running binary-only blob a benefit (hint: its not).

    1) qmail and djbdns don't have licenses, they have rants
    2) the license rants are not free for openbsd to use
    3) there is nothing wrong with sendmail and bind
    4) nothing prevents you from downloading and installing qmail and djbdns

    no, a traditional phone call goes through many subsequent systems to get to its endpoint.

    dsl terminates at the DSLAM, which makes it point to point (now, the IP traffic going over the dsl is not point to point).

    I'm not sure how often "periodically" is, but as long as my power doesn't go out, I get uptimes of 1.5 years on my dsl (at which point, the power goes out).

    try getting a real isp, one that knows what they are doing. (hint: if they own the copper, they don't know a god damn thing)
