but if you take something - say ice skateing and make it so that x gives y points.. then everyone will just learn to perfect the move with the highest y and then you will just see a chain of them for the lenght of the event..

it is perfectly acceptiable for it to be subjective - this is why there is more than one judge - and they do have guide lines for quality and preformance..

while i agree it might be better to call it a compitition than a sport - i do belive it has just as much a place in the Olympics as sports.

pure artistic stuff i don't think is right for the Olympics but if it is a good hybrid between art and athletics then go for it.

sure this idea doesn't sound great at first - but in an office environment it is damn nice - it is far far easier to manage a thin client deployment and a cluster of terminal servers than it is to deal with a normaly desktop deployment.

in the past places shot it down cause of the limitations - now days the limitations are few and farther between. and i know Sun for one has been working long and hard to remove the bottle necks and MS is doing better by agreeing to licence citrix's solutions (MS licensing citrix solutions is why we saw such an increase of quality between terminal server 2000 and 2003 and also why you now need to buy a terminal cal for XP pro on server 2003 where XP pro has it's own cal for 2000 - the new call for 2003 is to recover their licenseing cost to citrix)

yea but if your going to argue the point like that.. you have to give a basis for what is a "mircowave".. that term has changed alot in history.. today people know it cooks their meals (by entergizeing water and causing it to vibrate and heat up the substance it is in) but that was a secondary usage someone applied mirowaves to do.

they realized the potinial and now we all have one.

but what exactly is a microwave? it was orinaly defined as a very short wavelenght EM transmission - i don't know what the orinal was. but if you are going to argue aginst the IEEE's definition then i recomend finding what the orinal is.

and saying to not label something with water entergizeing effects as a micro wave.. would be akin to saying that the AM and FM diffinitions are the same thing

again we label them diffrently for a reason.

to say that frequency's near each other experience some of the same interactions is true.. but to use that to miss define them is wrong.

we as people define things so we can have a basic understanding when comunicating with others

and saying it is a microwave because water absorption happens.. i would like to note that water likes to screw with everything in one way or another in every single EM and non EM thing out there.
