it is concrete - but it isn't your everyday concrete - every brick/slab is made with diffrent mixtures - jsut becauseitis concrete doesn't mean it even remotely resemples what they make bridges out of .
i am sure it falls under both groups "concrete" and "special bricks"
and your right in that it more than likly is a water issue.. the trick is deterimingin where - how much - and is the section that failed the only one.
i remember watching the news the day after Columbine - they had an "Expert" showing footage of how Doom was nothing but a murder simulator.. and how games destroy kids.. (all that lovely crap)..
i pointed out to my parents that the eye's on the hud where gold.. meaning the guy was cheating and had godmode turnned on..
Where i work we use exchange for mail and WM5-6 phones - and use SSL connections between the phones and the exchange front end for data transfer - it has push e-mail and works quite well... on top of that there is no middle man/software service for it.
while some may say BB is better.. we have people here who had BB's at other places.. they like what we have and i have heard no complaints
when you said political i wasn't thinking of corprate politics as you had "political, and corporate" so i thought you ment government when you said political..
yea there is alot of reasons it failed and it was mostly all the phone compines screw up..
i wasn't aware of the cable length problems as that never seemd to come up when places i knew ordered them.. i could see that being an issue for rural.
PRI services do thrive.. and today are in my mind the only way to go for any decent size company - but again they are not for your average joe consumber.. the phone compaines just hasn't really gotten to the point (in my mind) where they can drop the corprate lvl requirements on deployment and service to put their necks on the line for broadband to the average joe
i agree that using "cult" for any and all religion is watering down the meaning - although i will agree with corporate troll that all religion has roots in cult or sects with cult styles.
some far worse than others - and with the modern demonization of "cult" i think we should save it for the worst...
no it isn't out of the blue - infact we belive here in cross training - in everything - even if the second person would normaly never touch it.
we make sure to review our work flow yearly and every task is layed out in roles and peoplare assigned. it is the job of the primary to make sure any changes to the proccess are known by the secondary and that it makes it to the work flow.
it adds overhead to administraion and basic working of the office.. but it also means if someone leaves or is unavaliable for any reason that the work can still continue
it is the first place i have ever worked that has had this level of focus on this type of thing - and it really is worth it in the long run.
where i work we wanted to get a business cable line for mutiple reasons.. but the guy who oringaly build the building didn't have them run any cable lines to the building.. so TW wanted us to pay for it (>10k).. we ended up bonding several PRI's.. sure the montly cost is more.. but overall it is better solution..
two years ago a friend of mine was going back west for xmass to see his family - they are all gun owners and enjoy shooting. He has an AR-15.. apprently ammo is much more expensive out west than here in NC.. so he did his homework and looked up the laws on carrying his AR-15 and ammo with him to go out west.
he went out and bought the special padded ammo case - and padded gun case that met the requirements.
when i drove him to the airport.. i went in with him just to make sure they didn't become asses about it and make him leave his gun (if they did i would takeit home).. anyways.. the gun was fine.. the ammo they looked at.. opened.. and spent 30min talking about.. then came to the conclusion.. that he could take it BUT on take the ammo that was still in the orginal manufacturs boxes.. there for the loose shells in the fome inserts couldn't be taken.
so they took about 40 live rounds of 7.62 out of it.. put it in a clear zipplock bag and handed it to me to stand and wait in the security check line till he boarded the plane....
so for about an hour every single person is looking at me funny.. and i have to explain to ever damn cop/marine flying home why i have this.. yet the airport security people never said a damn thing to me.
at that point i think it would be safer to replace airport security with Honda robot's.. as they follow scripts better and would be less likly to be ass holes to people they didn't like
isdn BRI didn't fail do to technical or political reasons..
it failed to become main stream because durring the time frame where it would have been the first broadband that could be delivered anywhere - the phone company priced it out of existance for nearly any home user.
yes the first gen did have anissue of requiring f1 pairs.. (2 at that).. but they later changed it so it could use a single pair and also be routed accross fiber nodes..
pricing is what killed it (well more of a still birth).. but functionaly it was great (i used one for many years)
i don't think "YouTube is still a painful experience" is due in any respect to your connection speed - it has alot more to do with the content and people who comment there.
very true.. where i work it is policy that when you give your notice your login is turned of completely - your are then paired with someone else in the office - your e-mail box is forwardedto them with an auto reply to mailers of the contact change.
that pairing allows you to cover and discuss what you where doing and what needs to be picked up.
instead of spending your last weeks finishing your job you spend the last weeks as a source of information as someone else is trained to cover your job.
saddly i could see them doing the "think of the children".. and some might favor it.. they would say "protect the children from the net.. don't let them get caught in this gateway crim of downloading" - an in my mind i would say "good riddence.. now if i could also keep that crap they keep producing off the raido.. i want my kid to not be influinced by this gateway to crap music/movies"
also the gp mentions cult = some mind control.. my question is if he has ever bothered to read up on Scientology - from every text of theirs i have ever seen.. mind coltrol and reality/perception distortion to their members seems to be their first objective
keep watching - aroudn where i am that is standard for the tech whom is reparing serivce.. they will run it on top and leave slack.. then a few days later a contractor will come by and bury it 2-3in with a (some odd looking tool)..
but it allows them to get service up to you now and bank on you not mowing your lawn for a few days..
what is fun is when that contractor never shows up.. and told the cable company he did..
i had a similar issue with my power last year.. one of the 120v legs went bad.. so they slapped a transformer on the side of my house -next day techs came out and identified where the leg was bad.. ripped up part of my neighbors driveway to fix the cable.. told them a contractor would come by in a day or so to poor a new patch slab... two weeks later the neighbor is pissed and the power company says it has beenfixed.. all because a contractor never bothered to do the job and jsut said he did it...
hehe.. when a molde fails .. call it art and move on :)
i'm supprised you had to ask
while that is true.. there is also a "spec" for the mix..
it is more than jsut each batch is diffrent.. but while each batch is diffrent there is a spec it falls into..
i was just pointint out the the parent that the spec used for the launch pad is not the same spec used for anything else..
my personal fav is concrete that has a spcific density less than that of water

that is exchange 2003.. exchange 2007 can do that and also notify of new message by SMS (notify the device to go get it.. not the person)

I like and agree with your list.. you put some time into it.. but i have a question about your last sentence
"If Al Queda launched a cyber attack to knock out a hospitals computer infrastructure, that would be terrorism."
now change the Al Queda to MediaSentry - the people who DOS'ed R3 this past weekend.. inwich the R3 people said "luckly it was us and not a hospital"
what if it that company did target a hospital.. would that be considered terrorism..
(just asking for your personal view)
i had the same idea.. but while reading your post my eye's forgot to show some of the words.. so i read it as
"we'll have people that fell through their.... dog"
and i just have to wonder how the hell you would do that
someone mod parent up.. my points ran out yesterday.. and this has tobe one of the best forms i have seen in a while
i agree the helmet attacked to the bike does sound like asking for trouble.. but that thing would be fun as hell to drive.. atleast in short sperts..
trying to do a road trip with that would kill yourneck

right but it is still a know to be termminated employee.. yes it isnt't eh same as someone who left and still has access that is king of no-noes..
but it falls into the gray area of who is at fault for the breach

so far it has worked really well for us

i find it easier to just read an old book
it isnt' just for the stop downloading copyrighted shit - this can be used and twisted in many diffrent ways..
just the fact that it allows them to get customer info without a court order is sickening..
also the idea that the US would write something that would effect the rights and privicy of people from another nation is also sicking..
there is more than one way for them to get what they want.. and this is the easisest for them and the wrost for us and our rights.
everyday moving onto a sailboat and just live sailing sounds more and more like a reality for me..
also the gp mentions cult = some mind control.. my question is if he has ever bothered to read up on Scientology - from every text of theirs i have ever seen.. mind coltrol and reality/perception distortion to their members seems to be their first objective
