how long some people spend customizing their myspces just because they're flash developer nerds who still like to communicate with friends through an easy to use network?
I dont see why police shouldn't be allowed to search through your google history- or anything else on your computer for that matter, just provided that they have a warrant. It's no different from searching through your house or any of your personal belongings, which is perfectly fine provided that they have a warrant or reason to do so.
well considering that you're on/., its probably closer to "all of us hate microsoft because we are older, more qualified computer users who simply, have used microsoft for too long"
sure, i would love to listen to music in class. of course i'll listen to a lecture, but when we're doing classwork (which is susually useless busiwork that requires little thought anyway), it's really nice to have music
Your grammar and capitalization reveals that you are.. a high school student.
was that really neccesary? also, thanks for figuring out that i'm a high school student. the line "if youre a high school student (like myself)," would never have given it away. I know how to use proper grammar, i communicate with clients via email all the time. why do i not use my grammar/sp/punctuation here? well put simply, i dont feel the need to impress anyone.
ipod video is great. my friend just got one. of course everyone is saying what the hell, who would want to watch video on a 2.5" screen, but the question i have, is how the fuck do you plan on taking a normal sized, 30" tv on a plane, train, or in a car? stop complaining about the screen size and realize the potential. if you travel a lot, if youre a high school student (like myself), its great.
heh.. well yeah. ive been using gmail for well over a year as many of us have, and i figure anything out in the technology world is generally considered "obselete" in about 3 months:P
just kidding.... yes, early days meaning summer/fall of last year
actually a freind and i have found that google's advertising does not put out ads even at the hint of something negative. try sticking something like "death, funeral, terror" in your gmail sig, and they dont even display ads. it's one of google's courteousy things incase your email is about the death of someone and you're traumatized or something. I dont know if it still works that way, but i know it used to in gmail's early days..
what about spandex and proctologists? one may never know...
Of course mac users wont be used to viruses and other "infections" we've never really experienced any so it feels like we're invincible. The thing is that we just dont realize that someday, there will be some jackass (or team of jackasses >.< ) that decides "hey, i think i'm gonna make every newspaper and online news headline all over the us", and he's going to write a damn good mac virus. and you know what, we will go nuts because we've never seen it before.
Sure, they are useful, but again, neccesary? I mean it just seems like everyone is trying to do this, and it's too much info. I open up the browser and google's personalized is feeding me everything from weather to quote of the day, slashdot xml feed, etc. It just seems like too much. I'm not saying dashboard is a bad thing, I like it a lot, but is that combined with spotlight and a few other tweaks really worth $130?
I'm sick of those darn emails that tell me i need to update my paypal info. Of course they do look believable to normal people, except for the fact that the url is http://insert/ random ip address here]/paypal.htm
I really dont think that os x 10.4 deserves that spot as a "best of" 2005, or at least on the top 10. It has some great features, such as dashboard and spotlight, but honestly I could do without. I was very impressed at first, but dont use the features as much as I would like to. So maybe Tiger could be moved down a little w the list.
two cents in the jar:]
seems like a great thing that's about to happen. i would really like to see the continued development of this, where we can have entire newspapers that change, and you only need one sheet with a wireless subscription.. this should also tie into google's wireless internet across the us (if that's ever to come). but i have a question- if it is so paper thin, how durable is it? i'd just hate for them to start marketing them at expensive prices and have stuff end up like, "Hey honey, look at this new newspaper I just got.... SHIT, just ripped it.":P
i love gaming, it's fun, and its a great thing to do with friends, however- are mac gamers really that crippled? I mean, every fps shooter is basically multiplayer deathmatch, then single player shoot-em-up with a similar storyline to the rest of them. I play starcraft, unreal tournament 2004, call of duty, and doom 3. all on a mac. they run great and its alll you need. starcraft, well is just starcraft, the legendary strategy game from the late 90's, call of duty, ut2k4, and d3 are all great fps shooters. its all you really need. i mean, sure, it cant play half life 2, but do you really need it? is it really that great? what is so different about it than call of duty or doom 3?
just my two cents.
B.I.O.S. = "Basic input output system"
well in this case, we just have to make sure google only indexes one picture for every thousand words :)

Hahahaha.
If I had any mod points then I would have given you all of them for funny.
This gave me a good laugh.
mod parent up!
well, the only thing i have to say to this, is where do you get your info for prices? i dont think i've seen a 60gb hdd cost over $300 for years.
cheap hard drive...
This might comparing be apples to oranges,
well actually in this case we're comparing apples to pda's. nice try though.

notebook computer = $999 and up ipod video = $299. i do have a notebook. its a nice 12" powerbook. most people can afford an ipod over a notebook.

well, for me, seems like the only viewing i'll need to do is that of my dvd player when it's burning it to a new dvd :]

now unix will be more secure than all... well, again.

not a good thing for people who dont know a lot.

Last but not least, the "Politics" and "Apple" sections look as nice as ever,
:) apple is pretty, and most of the rest just dont cut it.
of course the apple section looks nice as ever. thats just how things are
well, my powerbook is not a pc laptop :-P
