Great article, but i am not so much worried about teenage kids as i am towards the younger ages. these games are pointed at younger ages and its getting younger. i'm 16 living in a neighborhod with many 9, 10, and 11 year old kids. One in particular i see having growing interest in knives, guns, fire, the lot... after playing gta. Come on, he used to be playing with cool tools until his parents bought a playstation 2! The problem here is kids playing these games when they are too young, and too immature to understand that the violence in those games isn't real life. Its more of a problem than the teens who understand that it is fake.

I find mac's help system far better than windows. the interface is so much simpler, it is faster, and as far as i've used it, it is very functional. windows also tries to dress theirs up too much. they need to lay off the 'fancy' graphics and work on functionality.

  12. i cannot say how happy i am on Nigerian Scammers Brought to Justice · · Score: 0

i am so glad to see this. my biggest problem with these people are on ebay. if anyone can relate, this might sound familiar:

"Hello, my name is [whatever], and i am buying item for my daughter final year project. it must be shipped right away, the method of payment is money order by western union, blah blah."

these people tear up ebay when it comes to selling high priced items. they caused me so much money in ebay seller fees that i had to demand my money back from ebay. for one instance, i sold my old laptop computer, and it was bought 5+ times by scammers wanting to pay me through western union and ship it to nigeria. it isnt just people in africa doing this, however. as far as the laptop computer goes, i actually recieved a payment in paypal of $500 more than i wanted for the computer. this was in russia, not nigeria. i was skeptical- and that same night, a representative from paypal called my house to tell me that it was fraud.

my point is, it's not just the guys from nigeria that are scammers. you just have to treat every deal carefully. if it looks too good to be true, it most likely is (of course excluding the samples at costco) :)

I think the nintendo ds was a huge waste. Seriously, the "p2p" wireless that they have is great and all, but with the psp's capability to connect to an 802.11b/g router it makes multiplayer so much better. Also the fact that the games for ds suck compared to psp's, nintendo sucks. im waiting for the nintendo revoolution to see if that can bring em back, but i doubt it

As far as i know, there still havent been any major improvements except for IE 7.0 (and i am counting on firefox/safari to still be better). As for the other graphics, goood job Bill, you are finally starting to catch up to macintosh! NOT.

i heard another rumor that they might be taking the my out of my documents, my pictures, etc so it will just be 'pictures, documents, music' etc etc... dont know how accurate it is though.

mac will still prevail, especially since i expect a new OS release from them by the time longhorn is out (most likely not until 2008 because they are always so late at releases)

i think that this is great. i have been wanting an ipod photo only because of the color screens but now i dont even have to go there. my friend has an ipod photoo and left it at my house today- i have been looking at the pictures, and they suck because the screen is so small. as far as video goes, i think they'll go to touch screens -meaning larger screen and no dial thing- before they do video. and even then, video will take up a shitload of battery so they better fix that before they go video. my ideal ipod is one that fits in my back pocket and scratches my back when i ask it to.
