I believe that Snow Leopard will just be a Leopard upgrade for those of us who have newer, Intel-based machines. I think that people who have MBP and the like were happy with the boost in performance with Leopard, but were a little upset with some app speed and lack of functionality of the new arch. Leopard still supports PPC, which causes some legacy code to be used, which causes it to be slow.
Snow leopaard might not be the next Mac OS, it's just like extra icing for us Intel-Mac owners' cake. Just remember, it's not a new os, it's just a suped-up 10.5.
I built many of my college papres on this technology, and even cited this project in several papers.
Finally, technology advanced enough to allow Vannevar Bush's Memex to come alive. I would like to see how well this fairs with the public. Much of the public does not want tracking of every little digital movement...
We've come a long way, but we still have a long way to go.
One of my favorite keyboards to use, and I still use one:Apple Extended Keyboard.
It's huge, loud, and quite tough. Mine is from 1991 and still works fine:) I would say this is up there with the IBM M Keyboard. They don't make them this tough anymore.
I agree that it's pretty non standard, but I like the keyboard on my MBP. I don't get the two enter buttons, but delete is actually on here (fn+delete). My old laptop's keyboard (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=toshiba+a-10+keyboard&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2) was great, I enjoyed the function buttons on the side, but I have grown to enjoy my MBP more than that one.
I actually enjoy laptop keyboards a bit better than many desktop ones.
I really think this is a moot point for the Macs now, at least the more recent models. As everyone above stated, it offers the double finger mouse click (which, if you've tried it) is actually quite nifty and easy.
People also need to remember, you're buying a computer that'll meet what YOU like. If you prefer a nipple mouse, then you sure as hell are not looking at Apple. If I want OS X (my preferred OS) then I have an easy decision, unless I decide on hacked OSX86.
I've been using Leopard for a long time now and had NO crashes, only program glitches.
Also, this is total BS: "Apple isn't even honest enough to admit that Leopard is crashing: The OS just grays out my desktop and pops up a dialog box telling me I've got to reboot."
That's been in mac os since...10.0 is I'm not mistaken. Don't make it like it's new or anything.
Why should apple care? Doesn't unlocking a phone only take customers away from the carrier? Apple already got the profit from the phone when it was purchased, who gives a shit if someone wants to use it on a different network.
If anyone should be pissed, it's Cingular/ATT.
Also, this practice of voiding warranties for "hacking phones" is not new. I've hacked my Verizon Razr V3c because it just works way better with the hacks (all it does it enable features that are normally disabled, I dont change the software) and guess what, that voids the warranty with Verizon, but not with my phone insurance company.
Don't ALL operating systems have holes? I think the only thing different here is that Apple waited until there were a lot found and fixed to release the patch.
MS and Apple release patches differently; MS releases them as soon as they can, one at a time usually, while Apple chooses to wait until there are a lot of patches to release it. Not really the best idea, but not the worst for both companies.
Not news.
Yeah, it's called Winamp.
Not to mention there are ways to make it "explorer" or "finder" drag n drop like.
The way its set up by default is just to make it easier. There are plenty of ways around it.
I agree 100% here. Quicksilver is one of the best programs for a Mac, an the fact that it's free makes it much better. Hell, I think they need a QS for windows..good luck with that one.
Wow, I've never had a problem with VZW. I never get random dropped calls, hell I get reception in basements and sometimes the subway.
Their customer service for me has also been great. Looks like you just got all the bad luck with them I guess.
But then of course there are people who actually use test messaging. They get the spam...and lose the amount of legit txt's they can get.
I mean, it's only a small cost, but it's still annoying.
BTW, Just got through...3.0 is still not even up there yet for me at least;)
They didn't prepare for this very well now, did they? Someone dropped the ball. Site's been down since like 12:56

That is so damn cool. I want one!

It sounds like you just don't know your way around OS X.

I'm a hardcore mac user, and I feel the same exact way.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5766747 It's been around a while now...which is scary. I love my mac's but that's not a good thing to keep in the system. This is NOT a fix, this is just annoying.
2007 isn't over... What if they come up with a cure for cancer between now and 12/31? Time will be like "Sorry cancer cure! The iPhone already won!"

I donno, I've been running Tiger on a B/W with a g4 500 in it for some time now, and its a hell of a lot faster than the previous os (10.2.8).
One word: FoxMarks https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/241 0
One of the best plugin's ever for people with multiple pc's. Syncs everytime you add or remove a bookmark, and close/open ffx.

Don't install Vista.

Zing!
Can it run MacOS X??

This is true. Now I await my bill with the "Spam reward refund" listed on it for $.0003. =D
