    Why on earth would you destroy the quality of your mp3 by decoding/re-encoding the music when all you have to do is change something in the IDv.x tags? Someone could, more easily, write a program that adds a random letter to the "Comments" field of IDv3.

    Unless your laptop is very new, it probably will not be able to boot from the removable USB storage. Check to see if it is an option in the boot order within the BIOS. If not, then you're out of luck, unless there is a BIOS upgrade that enables it.

    We've run into this as well. Many separate networks that are now being joined together are colliding.
    This is not a fault of the protocol, however. There are plenty of RFC 1918 IP addresses for the largest of corporations.
    Networks need to be managed and thought out before implementation. I think that the IANA, as well as us got caught in the same situation.

    I personally know of many large corporations that have several Class-B networks that they use for non-accessible internal routing. I'm sure their numbers are much higher than just the one's I've come across. Couldn't somebody review who has all of those assigned addresses and help(force) them to migrate to private ranges?

    Since I am trying to keep this on pace with the actual article we're all replying to, I think that software that hasn't been supported for half a decade is not relevant whatsoever.

    Drudging up the past is hardly on-topic. Troll.

    Yeah emacs was original. Great. It is alive and well, and is up to version 21.something. It has had quite a longevity, totally unalike pretty much any program around. There's the exception.

    The virus writer would have been smarter to send notices to IRC, or muliple email addresses. Or use broadcasts a la the SQL worm.

    More clever thought behind things like these would make them much more devistating.

    Windows doesn't crash anymore. Perhaps if you were to install one of the newer Windows OS's such as XP, you would know this.

    I have 6 computers at home, running FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Linux, and Windows. The uptime for all of them is the same. The only reason I reboot Windows is for security updates.

    Nice to see a webpage that is actually usefull for what its made for being pused to the public. I am tired of hearing about Yahoo, etc. All they are now is just a vehicle for overpriced stock.

    I can name a VERY good CLI graphics program. Not for *nix, but for DOS... 3d studio, the precursor to 3dsMAX. You know, the program they used in the new Star Wars special editions. 3ds r1 to 4 was for DOS. In my opinion it was much better to use then the new Windows version. Also, many 3d CAD programs are still using DOS instead of windows. That way, they can write their own interface, rather than using Bill Gate's UI du jour. -sin-

    Ultima Underworld's 3d engine was say ahead of it's(and id's) time. The only thing holding it back was piss poor Cpu speeds, and no hardware 3d.
