    It also works the other way, though.

    Nintendo might not get many 3rd-party games (again) because the interface is different.

    Game devs will put out a game for the other two systems, and totally ignore the Revo because their game just doesn't work with its style of control.

    Couldn't this cause pretty serious gameplay issues, especially if it's used in multiplayer in the future? It wouldn't be much fun to be shot at by an enemy you can't see while waiting for the brightness adjustment to catch up, or by one outside a window who's obscured by the glare of sunlight...
    No, it would be awesome. It would add more depth and tactics to the game. It would make it difficult to watch bright doorways from a dark room, but also make it difficult for people on the outside to look in and see you. Flashlights would actually be useful, things like that.

    I seriously almost had this as FP myself. I clicked on the story and opened it in a background tab, then went and looked at something else for five minutes. I came back, and noticed... there were NO COMMENTS. I refreshed the page, hoping it would still be blank (yeah right) and thought of this same thing to post. BUt of course, now there's 38 comments. Crap, I need to pay more attention. Would have been my first FP too.

    Some insanity effects:
    • You'll open your inventory, only to find that you've lost
      all of your items.
    • Your TV will appear to have changed video modes, but you
      can hear yourself being attacked.
    • The word Mute will appear, as if someone has muted your TV, and all noise will cease.
    • The game will "reset"
    • After you save your game, the game will say that it is deleting your game.
    • You'll walk into a room, and have many zombies surrounding you, and the game will give you a message that it doesn't detect a controller in port 1.
    • You'll see the word Volume will appear, and the volume bar will decrease.


    I think that's what they're really patenting, not the blood-on-the-walls thing.
