"If you have never lived in China, you don't know anything about the situation and should not comment."
Wow. Just wow. That is tantamount to saying that if you don't live in Kansas, you can't discuss the weather forecast for today for Topeka. The last three paragraphs of your post read like a Chinese propaganda poster, and even go so far as to SUPPRESS disagreement with your point of view.
For shame.
There have always been American supporters out there on the lunatic fringe who feel the need to support any Communist country or cause they are presented with. Let us not forget all the people who worshipped the Soviet Union and who still worship (at least tacitly) the Cuban system of government. It only takes a handful of people shouting to overhwelm the softly speaking masses.
Probably because Native Americans and Australian Aborigines don't still make up 50% of their nation's population. If they did, and had an impassioned, eloquent, and most importantly (mostly) unitary leader-in-exhile to speak for them, things might be different. At this point, at least with regards to Native Americans, there isn't all that much left to "liberate" anymore, so all that is left is to study what happened.
I don't see your point about S. Africa, there was tons of activism in the US surrounding apartheid, it just happens to have pre-dated the widespread use of the internet.
Where do you live?
My cable internet had about 25-50% uptime before I finally ditched it for DSL, which still suffers from periodic "stutters" where the connection drops and recoveres quickly.
My cable television is worthless after around 5PM on any of the digital channels. They stutter, digi-barf, and sometimes just don't display anything at all.
As for the e-mails, that's probably people not knowing how to operate the spam filter mostly, but I have had a few un-explained e-mail disappearances with e-mail I've sent to MYSELF!
Yeah, but that kinda leaves out the logical step that the Prius doesn't really generate new electricity while braking, it only recovers SOME of the energy that you wasted.
Why not consider paper and a standalone DVD photo burner? I could also see mailing the memory cards home as you fill them. Personally, I wouldn't want to drag a computer around the world with me if I could accomplish the same thing with a lot less weight.
My little sister threw my Gameboy in the bathtub when she was a few years old. I got a new Gameboy out of the experience, because it stopped working. But, nearly a decade later, I found it in a drawer somewhere, and when supplied with fresh batteries, the darned thing powered up, despite some corrosion!
Hopefully there won't be large penalties for owning one, if at all. Otherwise half of the building owners in NYC will probably be in trouble, because any building with an old fallout shelter probably has an old yellow Civil Defense geiger counter stuffed somewhere in it. Those things are like cockroaches, not only are they everywhere in old buildings, but they'd uselessly survive our destruction.
Here is question... Before touchscreen voting, our area in Maryland had an optical paper system, which resembled some sort of Star Wars fan video version of R2D2. Why didn't they hold onto these machines, just in case the touchscreen voting devices didn't work out?
If you want to impeach Bush for having a 30% approval rating, you'll need to impeach the democratic legislature as well. And cite a serious poll from a legitimate source indicating that the majority of Americans think that Bush has committed impeachable offenses.
See Article I, Section 8, Clause 3.
"The Congress shall have power . . . To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states,...with the Indian tribes, and whatever else it wants."
I think it is rather obvious why China and Russia don't focus on long-term scientific missions. There is no huge whiz-bang factor that you can use as either a competitive comparison to outside nations, or as a way of showing the power of the state. While politicians in America have to placate/distract the people with the occasional metaphorical fireworks show, there is no need to keep the people in line by showing the power of the state.
Stop and think back to the Sojourner mission. The first images came back during a holiday, so people were able to view them, but do you remember how many people sat in front of the TV to see them rather than sit out on the deck with a beer? Had there been people on that mission, I assure you it would have been watched in earnest.
That device (puck-mouse) should be listed as a torture device. It hurts your hands, it is counter-inuitive, it clicks sometimes for no reason, and it is the ULTIMATE nightmare in function follows form.
I find it strangely ironic that a post stating the article is off-topic has been modded off-topic. Like looking at an off-topic mirror using another off-topic mirror, creating one of those infinite reflection loops, or in this case, infinite off-topics.
But then, I'll concede that THIS post is wildly off-topic.
Well, mine got around 26mpg at 5,000ft, and around 28mpg at 0ft, so I can only assume that it would get exactly 2mpg, subtracting 1mpg for every 2500ft. But your mileage may vary.
This is yet another reason why we need a realistic rail option. Listen up Amtrak, we need cheaper tickets or substantially better service to give us a realistic option for non-air travel.
Personally, I'd be more than willing to sacrifice a day or two getting there if the travel was comfortable, the food was good, and there was decent entertainment beyond an in-flight movie.
Oh, and please start ALLOWING PETS AGAIN!!! They used to be allowed, so I know you can do it...

What are you hiding China?
Does this mean that WE are Skynet?

Is everyone in Europe so fanatically paranoid about the United States? Sheesh.
Why, oh why didn't we start the game in 2050? Then we would have had Fusion power plants!

Did you click on the wrong thread there? WTF?
Well, all the lawyers can rest easy that either way, you too will die.

Not even remotely insightful. PROVE one American presidential election was rigged in such a fashion as this, and I will eat my hat.

I fail to see how this article is relevant to the purpose of this site.
