  1. When will the day come... on Steven Hawking Considering Move To Canada · · Score: 0

...when scientists from all countries can collaborate with each other for the benefit of humanity in general? Imagine how much scientific advance could be made!

  2. Re:Putting stuff in various new orbits on Send the ISS To the Moon · · Score: 0

How would NASA make use of old booster rockets in space? They're lower powered (at least I'm assuming they've been improved), and they would need to be refueled. It doesn't make much sense to use fuel to transport fuel out to old rockets.

  3. Re:Problems... on Send the ISS To the Moon · · Score: 0

Perhaps the new Ares V rocket will make resupplying a moon-orbiting ISS possible?

  4. Memory aid or detriment? on Cyber-Goggles Record and Identify Every Object You See · · Score: 0

As neat as this sounds, I believe it would damage one's ability to remember. With these goggles, the user will rely on it heavily and the memory will suffer from disuse just like any other skill.

That was definitely a waste of download time. I'd much rather see the pictures from the upper atmosphere. I've seen balloons float up to the sky before, thanks.

Wow... I used to have a computer that had 10 MB of storage, and now there's discs that have waaaay more than that. Even more than my computer now. Wow...

"and Squirrell, a web mail client"

I'm not sure if it's the same, but I use SquirrelMail and it works really well. I use a file server as a host and backup. I can access it through the web anywhere, or you can set up a program to download the mail, but I recommend against Outlook. IMAP works with it as well.

  8. Huge GUI problem in websites. on Balancing Use Between the Keyboard and Mouse? · · Score: 0

I've noticed the obsession with GUI in websites. A lot of menu-links are hyperlinked graphics, but they load so slowly for people who don't have high speed or a lower-end high speed. Also having most of a website in flash is very common now, but again, it takes a long time to load the whole flash file. People like this need to learn that it isn't always about looks, but about accessibility and speed of service.

  9. Have they thought this through? on Wireless Sensor Networks for Killing Mosquitoes · · Score: 1

Yes, mosquitoes are a huge nuisance to humans, but what will getting rid of them do to other ecosystems? Spiders, for one, feed on mosquitoes. I hope they've done their homework on this one.

I suppose you're right. Selling USB drives with music for $30 wouldn't give them much net income. It's true, they might just not be greedy like most of the other bands.

  14. Just a shortcut to the internet on Barenaked USB Drive · · Score: 0

What's to stop people who buy this from just copying the songs and putting them on the internet? Shouldn't they be trying to find ways to protect their work rather than make it easier to steal?

  15. A whole weekend to reformat? on Maintaining Windows XP System Performance? · · Score: 0

I'm asumming that's what you were meaning, but A WHOLE WEEKEND? I can do it in a matter of about three to four hours. Full backup, full reformat with everything installed again, no problem.
