Thank you. Where are your positive moderations? (Answer: I don't have any at the moment, so I'm posting.)
Why so much hatred for the rural folks on Slashdot? I would love to live more in a more urban setting, but there are more complicating factors that prevent that. So to all you "tough shit" city-dwellers - thanks for nothing, assholes.
Capitalism is an economic system of lending money for as much profit as possible.
Capitalism is more properly defined as a system in which the means of production are privately owned (as Wikipedia has it). It may have some aspects that conform with your definition, but that's not the whole of capitalism.
If I am a non-working designer and I have a chance to spend a few minutes in photoshop designing some logo for your crappy company Cheapskate Inc., it doesn't cost me anything other than time to make a logo of a roller skate with pennies for wheels.
Ooh! I like the way you're thinking! Now, just make me up 6 or 7 full-color variations on this theme - suitable for envelopes, brochures, and billboards - and if I like any, I'll buy one.
Let's try again.
The OP didn't say he discovered this through a Google search. I am assuming he has a specific poll, or set of polls, in mind. I think there are a couple of us here interested in where he got his information.
Text adventure games were quite involving, if the player made the effort to get into the game. You are right about the "GET..." breaking your experience, along with other commands not working all the time. Better adventure games would give you "You can't do that right now..." which was bad, but considerably better than "I don't see a 'X' here," when it just got done describing the 'X' in the text!
Another funny thing - apparently public opinion wants to push Obama to be "more angry" about this thing. God help him, the poor guy is trying. I think in another week he'll be ripping his shirt off behind the podium.
Then we're about to lose 3 out of 4 people worldwide to genocide, war or hunger. Including 1 out of 2 Americans. But the countries that would be truly fucked in this case would be Europe and Africa.
Huh? Could you please explain where you got this data from? Am I missing some sign of the impending apocalypse, did the oceans turn into blood while I was sleeping?
2012. They made a movie about what was going to happen. Didn't you see it?
Thompson Reuters? Yeah, like that's a real name...
It's also possible that for whatever deficiencies Sharron Angle exhibits, they see her as a vastly superior choice to the execrable Harry Reid.
2098 = The Year of Desktop Linux!
...is paved with redirections.
Hah! I'll bet you never had any-
Aw crap!
Now to un-suspend all those players from Uruguay ....

Which is pretty much the response you'd get right now, today.
Rupert Murdoch will be glad to sell you a subscription.
My advise - for good affect, try not to loose you're train of thought.
Quite being so reasonable!

The blame game gets tiresome when Democrats are in charge. But with Republicans, open season.
No, it doesn't sound familiar, but perhaps you can explain.
You still use electricity? You, sir, are worse than Hitler.
